Rosario Hernandez 11-218 Abner Romero Art Class: Animation and Illustration

In this chapter, the author broke down the animation

into four different categories to make it easy for us to learn it well and fast. Its about the movement of every different living thing of object to make us understand it well when it comes into animated. Its called The Four AS Of Animation: Acting Animation Action and Activity Lets start with the lowest category to the highest one: Activity To Acting

It is the most basic form of every movement that we

have may witness. These kind of movements are not associated with anything in nature and abstract while some others are still remain abstract but does not associated with anything in particular that we know of as being capable of independent movements. We all can see examples of anything in text or writing in a title sequence in a screen and some objects that move, it can move fast , slow with various points of variable dynamics.

Describes movement that can be attributed to specific

objects. Here also describes the action of a bouncing ball or a paper aero plane. Between Action and Activity , there are some difference, under certain reasons and well known laws of nature. They dont intend to move this way, they are just results of the natural laws of nature with their own properties.

Describes the kind of dynamics that arise from within

the subject matter. This can seen in various things such as a salmon leaping out of the water as it heads upstream to spawn. This example and others intend to undertake these actions and it is also the key that is the motivation that comes from within the subject itself, while the fish is still a subject to the laws of physics and the external forces, it is determined to move by their physiognomy and particular motivations that instigate the action.

Describes the highest level of animated movement,

not only by the laws of nature, with the route of the movements coming within the subject, there are clear psychological reasons for these movements. Its called performance, this is the type of movements we experience the inner feelings of the subject of the animation. This level of animation deals with variable dynamics, and variations in mood and temperament necessary to build characters with personality.
