Healthcare Access for All

Promoting English-Accessible Health Rights and Support in Israel
In many sectors of Israeli society, English speakers are seen to have advantages. In the healthcare sector, the playing eld should be even, but the system is lacking, especially for the millions of Israelis who are not native-born, or not native Hebrew speakers. SPP lls an important need by providing access to necessary information about healthcare rights, benets, services, and support. SPP in Action! Supplying translations and program development to Israeli health and support organizations. Publishing information on healthcare rights and support for the English speaking public in Israel. Providing tools for support personnel to use in educating and assisting patients. Why English Speakers? Gabe Pransky founded The Shira Pransky Project (SPP) after reecting on the challenges he and his wife Shira, of blessed memory, faced during her ten year battle with cancer. Rights, benets, and support that could have eased their burden considerably all passed by in unfortunate ignorance. Gabe soon realized that their experience was not unique. SPP Goals and Objectives

~Alleviate the strain of personal crisis on medical patients. ~Provide access to information previously not available in English. ~Promote understanding of the healthcare system before personal crisis hits.

English speakers in Israel face a distinct challenge navigating the healthcare system. It makes regular life harder, and it makes times of crisis even more desperate.
