Methodology
Primary data: Primary data was collecting through questionnaire and personnel interview. Secondary data: It has been collected through Internet, observation, company manual etc. Sample size: For the purpose of study customers of different bike users have been chosen as a sample size of 100 through convenient random sampling. Data collected was tabulated and simple percentage method was used to derive conclusion. Findings: When respondents where asked to rank the parameter which made them to select two wheeler. The parameter rated the highest was fuel efficiency followed by the resale value and price of vehicle, aesthetics was lowest. Majority of respondents are in favor that Hero Honda provides wide variety of products with different models. Many of the respondents are satisfied with the fuel consumption of Hero Honda Splendor+.

Recommendations: • As majority of them rated for fuel efficiency, the two wheeler companies should mainly focus on this aspect so that customers can be benefited with this efficient feature. • As majority of them are in favour that Hero Honda provides wide variety of products with different models, hence the company should launch still more varieties of different styles so customers get attracted to it.

Conclusion:
In this study I came to know that there are more than five different twowheeler companies manufacturing different types of vehicles. As the time is changing the demands and preferences are also changing very rapidly, so if the companies wants to survive in this competitive market, they have produce the goods and services as per the needs of customers to delight them.

Automobile industry performance
All segments of the automobile industry turned in an impressive performance during the year in review. Overall, the industry improved its numbers by 16 per cent compared to 2003-04. Despite a sharp rise in input prices, especially that of steel, sales of passenger vehicles grew by 18 per cent. The two wheeler segment grew by over 17 percent. Backed by the Centre’s initiative on rural roads and better connectivity with major towns and cities, improved agricultural performance, upward trend of purchasing power in the hands of rural people, two wheeler sales crossed the six million mark for the first time during the year. In anticipation of good market growth, automobile companies across the board introduced a variety of new models. We expect this trend to continue through this financial year. At the same time, we also expect aggressive pricing across segments. Hero Honda – Leading from the front During 2004–05, your company sold 2.62 million bikes. Hero Honda tightened its grip in the motorcycle segment with a 50 per cent share (up from 48 per cent). Your Company also accounted for 40 percent of the Indian two-wheeler market (up from 37 percent in the previous fiscal). During the year, Hero Honda maintained its one-million vehicle lead over its nearest competitor and for the fourth successive year, the company retained its slot at the top as the world's largest two–wheeler manufacturer. Total sales grew by 27.2 per cent from Rs. 5,832 Crores in 2003–04 to Rs.7,422 Crores in 2004–05. Operating profits grew by 19.3 per cent from Rs. 979 Crores to Rs.1,169 Crores and post–tax profit grew by 11.3 per cent from Rs.728 Crores to Rs 810 Crores. Hero Honda’s flagship brand, Splendour and its two upgrades, Splendour Plus and Super Splendour together sold over a million units, and in all, the Company sold 555,000 bikes more than the previous year.

Outlook on the two-wheeler industry
A : The 2-wheeler industry is expected to grow in double-digit figures in 03-04. Rising income levels, continuing poor public transport system, and declining interest rates, wider availability of finance, decreasing product life cycles and increasing percentage of young population are factors that shall contribute to the growth. The last few years have seen a fundamental shift in preference from scooters and mopeds towards motorcycles. Motorcycle sales have grown at a CAGR of 27% for the last 6 years Vs Two Wheelers, which have grown at a CAGR of 11% over the same period. In 02-03, motorcycle sales have grown at 30% vs. 17% for two-wheelers. The faster growth rate of motorcycles has seen its share doubling from 38% in 97-98 to 76% in 02-03. Henceforth we do not expect motorcycles to grow at a rapid rate. However the growth rate for motorcycles in 03-04 is expected to be faster than overall 2-wheeler growth and we expect it to be around 12-15%. For the medium to long term, it would appear that the Indian summer has just begun. Equally significant, within India, more and more Indians have started believing in their country’s economic story; and the outlook is improving continuously. As per the 2005 A C Nielsen Global Consumer Confidence and Opinions Survey, 79 per cent respondents in India felt that Indian economic performance in the first six months of 2005 had improved, and going forward, 88 per cent of respondents believed that the economic environment will improve even further in the coming 12 months, leading up to the end of 2006.

In fact, early trends from 2005-06 show that we’re on track, with the two-wheeler segment clocking a growth of over 17 per cent during the first quarter. Backed by a recovery in the monsoons, sustained momentum in the manufacturing sector and the continued surge in the service economy, we expect this uptrend to be maintained. However, heavy rains in many parts of the country also caused immense loss of human life and property. I am extremely anguished by such large scale devastation, and I pray to God that the people affected by the natural calamity get the strength to rebuild their lives. Other highlights are: For the year 2001-02 : Volume up by 38%, net profit soars by 88%, total turnover up by 42% Achieves a high 48% motorcycle market share and 33% two wheeler market share

Over the last five years, the company's total turnover grows by a whopping 580% and Profit after Tax by 919% Total Turnover of Rs.45, 394, 900, 000 (EURO 1,043,560,920) Profit after Tax Rs.4, 629, 300, 000 (EURO 106,420,690) Hero Honda has surpassed by leaps and bounds the other competitors in this space who are in joint ventures with giants like Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki etc. Hero Honda is 26% owned by Honda of Japan and the balance is held by the Munjals and Indian public. While 4% of the respondents prefer the LML Freedom.  57% of the respondents prefer the Hero Honda Splendor+ with respect aesthetics & 26% for Discover 112. 5% of the respondents will go for LML Freedom & 4% for Libero G5. While remaining 8% for Victor.

 When respondents where asked to rank the parameter which made them to select two wheeler. The parameter rated the highest was fuel efficiency followed by the resale value and price of vehicle, aesthetics was lowest.  68% of the respondents choose to buy two wheelers from Hero Honda & 15% from Bajaj Company. 8% of them will go for TVS & 5% for Yamaha. While 4% for LM.

CONCLUSION
In this study I came to know that there are more than five different two-wheeler companies manufacturing different types of vehicles. As the time is changing the demands and preferences are also changing very rapidly, so if the companies wants to survive in this competitive market, they have produce the goods and services as per the needs of customers to delight them. The Hero Honda is the No.1 two-wheeler company in India which produces wide variety of products with different models, aesthetics etc, by which it has captured a large market share in two-wheeler market.
