Things To Know: DMHS 2012-2013

1. Please be at school no later than 7:45am each day. If you have duty, you will need to make sure you are on your duty on time. 2. New teachers: we have TARDY tables. If a student comes to your door AFTER the tardy bell, please send them to the TARDY table on your hallway. A teacher will hand them a PINK tardy slip and at that point, you can let them in your classroom. Our students know what to do with the exception of our 9th graders and newly enrolled students. If you have questions, Tina, Duane, and I will be out and about making sure we help you. 3. Your entire class period doesnt have to be spent on the Chromebooks! It is completely appropriate to expect the children to bring paper and pencils to class. I would absolutely expect you to have them writing and taking notes etc. in their notebooks or wherever. Writing with pen/pencil and on paper is an essential skill that we do not want to go away; however, we do want use the tools we have such as Canvas etc. 4. Please be at your door and in the hallways during each transition. We need all the help we can get monitoring the children during transitions. 5. CELL PHONES ARE PERMITTED in our building. You will see the children on their cell phones in the hallways during transitions, at lunch, and before school. This is permitted at each HS in Rockingham County Schools. HOWEVER, students should put the cell phones away and on vibrate during your class unless you give them permission to do otherwise.
