involvement of Pangasinan students in common goals and actions for the promotion of a purposive scholarship in the University. Moreover, as a university-based organization, the UPSS also recognizes its role as an agent of the university in the pursuit of higher standards of academic performance and service, and of whatever responsibility the university holds for the good of the society. For years, the organization has taken part in the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE), an afternoon of educational exchange spearheaded by the University Student Council. And this year the UPSS, as part of the ACLE will be holding a lecture regarding the issue of Black Sand Mining in Pangasinan. In line with this, we would like to invite you to impart your knowledge regarding the topic this coming August 22, 1-5pm at the University of the Philippines Diliman Palma Hall. We believe that your expertise on the subject matter is sufficient in order to bring about a meaningful discussion.
