EXCERPT

Lilou and Lola were sitting beneath Barnaby, the old scarecrow. Lilou had brought a book and she was reading a story to her little sister. A story about a princess and a charming prince, of course…

    The Reed Trick

Today, the fox was going to treat himself to a feast: He would eat Al the rabbit!

He waited for him in front of his burrow, watching out for his long ears.

But the rabbit tricked him and left from the other side. Thinking that he was out of range, Al started to leap about in search of clover and medick. But suddenly, crack! He trod on a twig. The fox ran after him. Al reached the marsh, with the fox at his heels: He was trapped! He dived into the water; the fox thought he had drowned, but Al was breathing through a reed. He waited for the fox to go away…

    Phew! He was saved!

    The Eternal Snowman
