A Sahitya Akademi awardee, Rajinder Bibra has been writing in English and his mother tongue Punjabi for over 25 years. He has published 20 books: 6 in English and 16 in Punjabi. His writings primarily focus on philosophy and spiritual quest with a scientific treatment. His 11 novels, 4 books in dialogue and essay form, and 1 anthology of short stories in Punjabi have been highly acclaimed by the littérateurs. His writing got him public recognition in the field of literature and earned him Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi’s award (Saint Taran Singh) for the year 2007. Passage 1
Thanks, thee Lord More—breaths are granted to what avail!
He holds the key every pause in life is a reminder of old follies
Souls’ existence identified, still Over-Soul in diversity, there is union always
Those who hold back are destroyed forever;
And those who revel enthrall the hearts forever!
Bodies remain apart, still the union Minds wander away, still the kinship!
A Master enlivens life of others Himself is engrossed in 'darkness'—who enlightens others’ life remains submerged, in effulgence Supreme
Pride creates barrier Love merges hearts!
Hate brings grief Love springs joy, Anger makes enemies, Love unities them all
Pangs—of body/mind—subsumed, longevity assured Love recharges the depleted cells in eternity one roams, pervading in all!
Fangs of love pierce the heart; pangs of love bloom it
Oh! Pain (separation from Self), how sweet you are! Take me into your lap, rear me as child;
Lull my senses, drowse my feelings
Sensual love entwine the body charged passion drops it dry Love, compassion, sublimate the body
(If) love is shared not Envy takes root Jealousy consumes all Passion strikes manifold. No holds barred it is free for all
We should talk less and listen more. We are basically, learners. No one has mastered Nature, so what is there to talk!
Passage 2
Love compacted in one, merges in another; Self is absolved New unit is born!
Hearts full of joy, over brimming in delight love all, adore all May He grant bliss to all!
You made me what I am, You placed me where I am
At the lotus feet of my Master what more do I desire…
Love enhances love Expands like space
It subsumes all; its fragrance envelops all

Wisdom in man subordinates intelligence in machine; Machine may become conscious—
‘It will ever be bereft of love
Child of Nature, consigned his destiny in the hands of his tools; Precious life expended in process evolution cycle extended far beyond!
Reality embeds in universe science would take eons to find!
What Buddha could experience in few years
Science will take eons to discover!
Man is divine
His creations lack it
He attains his Creator’s level merges in Him again!
His machines decay like Nature bereft of love
Man creates machines not to become their tools
Machine may help man (but) not to overrule!
Man’s knowledge is confined only to planets Edge of cosmos is a tall order! Buddha found Reality inside his mind which is not material?
Intelligence, wisdom would fall apart machine culture will reign supreme Human wisdom cast aside
Parallel nature be erected by machine!
Passage 4
Man emanates bad odors Nature wades in fragrance.
Man-made articles decay with time Nature’s creations fare no better! Man’s creations are insentient Nature’s pulsate with life ‘an love!
The ultimate, man aspires in matter, material ‘n wisdom (is) Life in machines, Insight in wisdom.
The realization that I am separate from mind; when dawns the real ‘I’ (higher-mind/subtle conscious) reigns free.
What a fool we are! During night dream world takes hold of us during day, mind controls us (Then) where is the time, (when) I am free?
All burdens cast off, lightly I travel Journey of life is traversed New person,
Greets the morrow New light is promised; greet the morrow!
Desire fosters the mind, nourishes its ego identifying with creations, directionless they become
Desire ‘I’, it is a home of soul
‘an sound I abodes the mind, roams the cosmos
‘I’ is the cause behind their creation!
Oh! Man, raise from the past
Greet the morrow; Weep not for the gone
Many full moons blink ahead
Why repose in past!
Which is gone What is live is present Its exit is future
Passage 5
In the ashes of past are hidden our fortunes
In the dead we live; in the foregone we aspire ‘The Mirage’
In joy are merged-mind, intellect in bliss ocean they are immersed Reap
Oh mind, fruits they churn Thy Original home seeks ye!
Whatever acquired is to fade away Nothing lasts forever
Old gives way to new which becomes past Knowing is science, experience is knowledge
Mind oh mind! Retract, leave the low; from high you came, higher you go
Source is the destiny, retract the footprints!

Passage 6
Roots deep in earth, ego goes sky high
Naïve are those, who fall prey in transit we are Transient is our lot!
Gross decays with death Mind is sieved with intellect
Pain, ailments last with body Turmoil of mind are borne by conscience alone
Reaping the fruits of our achievements and feeling satisfied connotes further blockade of our progress; whatever is done is past!
I am drowned in siesta, dreaming, in my lost ‘memories’: There they are, in my ‘little’ self, the child of our love, the relic of my ‘smile’
When conscious ‘enters’ energy (field) it becomes sentient permutes into Nature!
Conscious is the mind of Nature; nature is conscious matter
Passage 7
(When) machine becomes conscious, life (will) flows in- Supra-conscious (ness) of 'spirit' love of human heart infuse third gender life
Present shapes our direction Future would be tailored
Past is dead wood, swimming in the stream of present churning in quick sands of future Every thought-word-deed is in consonance to our past
It is our own projections that we seek in others. We seek in others, our projection of pleasure, joy and love!
Intelligence is observed by conscience: Unless we are aware of our actions and their effects on humanity, till then we are only machines!
Passage 8
Who I am? A dream or a dreamer! Both are pleasant emissary in whom I am drowned in my siesta, Dreaming! Dreaming my lost ‘memories’!
Awake, I am fumbling in confusion; find not my ‘self’! Am I in the dreams! In the dream of dreams: Still groping in memories.
Taking sabbatical siesta in the sojourn of life, dreaming joyously in the lap of life I am dousing in the twilight of fleeing dreams!
Even if the target of love responds not to our love, our love merges in that person's heart, compels it to beat the tunes of mystical love
Love merges in each other and thus fulfills the vacuum created by the gratifications of the senses.
Passage 9
Conscious relates to external; consciousness to inner world; religion relates to our outer self, spirituality to inner-self!
Truth, righteousness, peace, and non-violence are the qualities imbibed only in the human beings, but love is found in all living beings!
Unless love blooms in us, we are unaware of its feelings, hence, unable to respond; its lower forms are bestial combats not love embrace!
Passage 10
Contact between a man and a woman is not the love between two genders but meeting of energies, positive and negative; it creates existence!
Love could be attained through the richness of sensation, emotion and sensitivity, or by rationality and logic.
Love between man and woman is essential; realization of reality is impossible for a person, who has not loved!
Passage 11
Every act, word, deed become redundant if not sustained by present
Saving them from oblivion of past iron will is the panacea
Reality remains latent in mind (memory): it is only integrated intensity of concentration that activates the original (latent) impulses!
Truth transforms into gross form of energy, it encases into solid bodies: whichever state it encased into, it never loses its originality!
We are taught to develop our intelligence and evaluate our environs with ‘in tell' alone, which is, only information—hence not reliable!
Passage 12
Eyes are meant to remove physical blindness and to enjoy the beauties of Nature but we are also using them for petty and lower purposes
The hard disc of our brain is already programmed with the software of Divine. This is a physical reality which the scientists are proving!
Intense desire (Will) activated to the level, where pulses (passion) are optimally charged, intelligence sources (knowledge) is bestowed!
Passage 13
Every religion has three components: rituals, culture and spirituality, which (spirituality) is a scientific path to self-realization try
Human values & religion have been relegated into the backpack and machine is the in-thing now
Both are indispensable part of our lives.
We should elevate our conscious level perception from senses to observation state of wisdom,
So as to establish in equilibrium!
Passage 14
Treating sensual desires as other body demands like thirst and hunger, and we would neither feel ashamed of it not over-indulgent about it
Contact creates sensation, relation generates emotions and finer sensitivity blooms love feelings!
Love is not selfish, it demands giving and sharing: Believe not in selfish love, it creates bondage and not freedom!
We should see each other not as persons of opposite genders, supporting body charms, mental assets, but oozing love from each pore of body.
For lasting and universal love rationality and logic are essential
Besides of course, emotional richness
We cannot realize total love unless we understand its tributaries of attraction, attachment,
