    If Only I Were A Bald Eagle is a children's story about a young boy with a brittle bone disease. Out of school due to yet another injury, Mack is allowed to have his schoolmate over. When they begin discussing what project to work on for extra credit, Mack allows himself to imagine life as a Bald Eagle.


    As Mack compares his own life with that of a Bald Eagle, he begins to realize living as such an animal may not be nearly as enjoyable as being a boy. And when he learns about An Angel's Gift! he is even more excited to be a kid.


    If Only I Were A Bald Eagle is a fun story for any age and is very informative about Bald Eagles. I hope this story will be as inspirational to children as it is fun to read and look at the pictures of all the Bald Eagles.

      An Angel’s Gift

      Mack Daniels settled against the trunk of a pine tree in his back yard. His friend, Bobby Adams, plopped down next to him and autographed Mack’s cool new, neon-blue arm cast.

      Mack watched, mesmerized at how quickly and easily Bobby drew a skull underneath his signed name.

      A skull picture had become part of Bobby’s signature on everything, including his homework papers which continually kept him in trouble with the teachers. Mack and the rest of their friends thought Bobby was brave and talented. He could draw better than anyone else.

      Their parents, however, did not appreciate the art of Bobby’s drawings. They were often lecturing the boys on disobedience and the simple understanding of right and wrong.

      But in private they agreed right and wrong were not always so easy to tell apart.
