Have you ever spent the day dreading your planned training session, thinking “Not another set of 1,000m intervals”? If so, you have fallen into the trap of thinking progression is infi nite, with no fi nish line.

Sadly, we do this all too often. It can be mentally daunting looking at a programme and seeing the same session planned for months ahead, when we have long since ceased to improve on that specific session.
