Cooking teaches children personal development including, team work, patience, socialization, and completing a project. Children can express their creativity by being involved with meal preparation. They feel special and develop confidence in what they have created, but the most important thing is that you and your children get to spend time together.

INTRODUCTION
One of my son and daughter’s favorite activities was helping me in the kitchen. As an avid cook, I spent time teaching my children cooking and baking techniques. They helped prepare meals, baked treats and enjoyed eating what we created. Spending time in the kitchen with your children is fun and educational.
Safety always came first. I created a list of safety rules my children had to recite before we entered the kitchen. They knew that fire was hot, a knife was sharp and most important, they were not allowed to be alone in the kitchen without an adult.
Children can help in the kitchen at a young age, my children were just toddlers. They learned the colors and shapes of foods, as well as the differences between fruits and vegetables. I also designed simple
