This book is still a bit over my 5-year-old son's head, but it is worth checking out for all the cute Halloween poems in the back.Something I noticed, and it may just be me, was a mild anti-Christian vibe that I wasn't getting from all the other nonfiction books which go into the history of Halloween. But it wasn't enough to turn me off, and nothing that I couldn't filter at this age.

This book packs a lot into a few pages! There's factual information about how Halloween came to be and the history behind many of the traditions. There are also some fun poems and recipes included. The vocabulary is difficult, so this book would be more useful as a learning tool than something to have out for kids to read on their own (depending on age).
