Never too late to start Living and Producing

Verdi composed Ave Maria at age 85,Pablo Casals composed El Pesebre to promote world peace and0  conducted it world-wide when he was 84.

Tolstoy, Shaw  and  countless  others,  created  well  into their  70s'  and  80s!

Author  Marion Hart made a solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic at age 85.

Martha Graham choreographed her 180th work at age 95 When Verdi was 80.  he wrote Falstaff, one of his most popular operas.

Picasso was still painting when he was almost 90, Michelangelo designed St. Peter's dome in his late 80s and carved the Pieta at age 89.

At age 89, the German naturalist, Alexander  Von  Humboldt finished his most accomplished work, Cosmos.

Arthur  Rubenstein,  the  American concert pianist, gave a concert in his 90s'.

So, it's never too late to take care of yourself.

Artists and writers  often produce more new ideas in their sixties  and  seventies than they  did  in  their  twenties. Also,  it  has been discovered that the later you take on a new interest more likely you are to stay with it in your later years. According to recent research, doing what you love to  do not  what  everyone  expects  you  to  do,  can add years and  happiness to your life.  Doing what you want will  not  only bring you  joy, it will give you energy. The energy you need to create the life you really want.  Not  only  will  you  be happier  living the life you love, you will be healthier!  On the other hand, not doing what you want to do  can  shorten your life..

One  banker  in  his  mid-fifties  found  this  out  in a  dramatic way.  He was dying from leukemia.  One day, during a therapy session, he told the psychologist that as a child  he had dreamed of becoming a professional violinist.  His father vehemently  told  him that it was too feminine. Nearly half a century  later,  at death's  door,  the  bank r began to play the violin, and his leukemia mysteriously went into remission.Take a hint from our banker friend  -  express  yourself!

Live  with  a  passion! You'll  be  a lot healthier for it.  live the life you want to live.  Learn to play your  favorite musical  instrument. Sing  the song you've always wanted to sing.  Say the  words you've been  longing  to  say. Join  a theatre  or singing group, take a dance class, go out dancing or just dance around the  house, go roller  skating,  write that novel), travel to your dream destination, do something adventurous, challenging  and new!  look at your  local community center, college, etc. for  art,  sculpture, pottery  or  other  crafts  or  personal  growth  classes and workshops.  Check out your YMCA for coed volleyball and other  fun  and  beneficial  activities,  try  playing  ping pong, badminton,  softball,  tennis,  basketball  and  other sports without having to win - it's much more fun that  way! Run  on  the beach or through the woods, enjoy a sunset, roll down a green  grassy hill, climb a tree, wade in a creek, bang on a  drum, throw a  risbee, jump rope, make up games  with  words, do  puzzles,  create new games you can play on your lawn - do< whatever delights the chill in you.  Be outrageous!  On the scientific side - recent studies have  shown  that there is  a  direct  relationship  between  one's  physical- a tivity level and actual life span.

Life because it is secret, look at every religion. Liberty because without it we are all slaves and slaves cannot be happy. Happy person one that can control his life, money and most Importantly his Time, Time is the stuff which happiness is made of.

ARE YOU TRULY HAPPY‘? Do you even know what it means to be happy and what it takes to achieve happiness? These are important questions for anyone who is seeking happiness to ask themselves. I live my life to maintain my own happiness while trying my best to not cause unhappiness to anyone else.

IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY you need to understand that you can be happy and that you should be

happy about. Many people make the mistake of believing that they don‘t deserve happiness and accept their unhappy state as their destiny. The

truth of the matter is that happiness. like anything else in life, needs to be nurtured. The following are a few tips that I follow to create

happiness in my life.

1. UNDERSTAND WHAT it is that will make you happy. Everyone has unique requirements for attaining happiness and  what

makes one person happy might be very different from what makes someone else happy. Revel in your individuality .

2. Make a plan for attaining goals that you believe will make you happy. Your mood will very likely increase as your pursue your

goal because you will feel better about yourself for going after something you value.

3. Surround yourself with happy people. It is easy to begin to think negatively when you are surrounded by people who think that way. Conversely, if you are around people who are happy their emotional state will be infections.

4. When something goes wrong try to figure out a solution instead of worroying in self pity. Truly happy people don‘t allow set backs

to affect their mood because they know that with a little thought they can turn the circumstances back to their favor.

5. Spend a few minutes each day thinking about the things that make you happy. These few minutes will give you the opportunity to

focus on the positive things in your life and will lead you to continued happiness.

6. It’s also important to take some time each day to do something nice for yourself. Whether you treat yourself to lunch, take a long,

relaxing bath or simply spend a few extra minutes on your appearance you will be subconsciously putting yourself in a better

7. Finding the humor in situations can also lead to happiness. While there are times that require you to be serious, when it is

appropriate, find a way to make light of a situation that would otherwise make you unhappy.

8. Maintaining your health is another way to achieve happiness. Being overweight or not eating nutritious foods can have a negative

effect on your mood. Additionally, exercise has been known to release endorphins that give you a feeling of happiness.

9. Finally. it is important to understand that you deserve happiness. Those who believe that they are not worthy of happiness may

subconsciously sabotage their efforts to achieve happiness. If necessary. tell yourself each day that you deserve to be happy and

remind yourself what steps you will take to achieve the happiness you desire. What we focus on, we empower and enlarge. Good multiplies when focused upon. Negativity multiplies when focused upon. The choice is ours: Which do we want more of?

- Julia Cameron

Are you carrying around some junk? You know, those hurtful and unconstructive things that you may have been told by someone during the course of your life. It was supposed to be taken with a grain of salt or simply ignored but most of the times we take that criticism and wear it like a hat of shame!

Negative thinking can make all sorts of things incredibly difficult. It is like a leak in your confidence bucket - constantly drip-drip-dripping away your confidence and self esteem.

We all know that we should think more positively, or avoid too many negative thoughts, but it is notoriously difficult to stop.Negative thinking can be useful to help assess the possible pitfalls in a potential plan of action, but you need to be able to turn it on and off at will. Otherwise, negative thoughts will sabotage your self belief, your confidence and your achievements. Your body reacts chemically to the fear that worrying and negative thinking entails.

When you are scared, your body releases adrenalin. This is a result of the `flight or fight' reflex that evolved to help us to overcome or run away from anything that threatened us physically. Adrenalin affects the digestive system, and can make you feel ill. The more you think about those negative things, the worse it gets, and a sudden rush of adrenalin can lead to butterflies in the stomach, a headache, or feeling very sick. Here are some of

the destructive effects of negative thinking:

Sleeping problems

It can become very difficult to get to sleep, because you feel worse at night. There are a number of reasons why. While you're trying to drop off to sleep, there's nothing to distract you from the worries that may have been lurking in the background during the day.

Sapping your self-confidence

The more problems you think you have, the less able you may feel to cope with them, and this can increase your sense of helplessness. This reduces your confidence, making you more vulnerable to your fears.

Unhelpful strategies

Under this kind of pressure, it may become very difficult for you to concentrate and carry on with everyday life, so that your problems tend to build up. It's emotionally draining to feel anxious all the time. It may feel as

though your whole life is being taken over by it.

Negative thoughts are not reserved for just a few people or situations. Everyone is plagued by negative thoughts at one time or another. However, once you begin thinking about what you're thinking about, you've already taken the first step to controlling negative thoughts.

Research shows that people who receive positive distractions for just eight minutes show a remarkable change in their moods and in breaking the cycle of repetitive thought. So, next time you catch yourself repeating the same negative thoughts over and over in your mind, use the STOP acronym:

1. S - Say the word STOP!

Interrupt your internal destructive thoughts. Tell yourself firmly to STOP over thinking. Be strict, and don't let them intrude on your thoughts. It also might be helpful to visualize a box to place all your negative thoughts in, which you may open at a later date or time.

2. T - TAKE a break!

Take a deep breath. Then, take a break. Go for a walk or a hike, read a great book, listen to your favorite music. Do something to take your attention away from over thinking, and if possible, change the environment.

Also try some relaxation exercises, they often focus on replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. This could involve imagining yourself in a new setting, such as a beach, a designer home or a garden. You could visualize

your worries as physical objects that can be discarded, such as stones or rocks you could heave into the distance.

Sometimes, doing a relaxation exercise makes people feel quite uncomfortable. You might feel that it's not working, or that you're doing it wrong. It's best to take the attitude that you're just giving it a go, and that

these negative thoughts are normal. Surprisingly, learning to relax takes practice.

3. O - Focus on the OUTCOME!

Focus on the OUTCOME of your goals. Affirm why you are committed to your goals. The way we feel and what we experience in our body comes from what we focus our attention upon during a given moment. And at any moment,

we are deleting most of what is going on around us. That is, to feel bad, we have to delete (not focus on, not think about) everything that's great in our life. And vice versa. For us to feel good, we have to delete the things we could feel bad about. Read more about the power of focus here.

4. P - PRAISE yourself!

PRAISE and acknowledge yourself for the progress you are making. Remember, you're looking for progress, not perfection! Give yourself a reward every time you're succesful with overcoming negative thoughts. And

remember small changes make a big difference.

By recognizing that you do have negative thoughts you've taken the first step. Now, start playing Devil's Advocate and challenge yourself to find the positive. Turn your thoughts around and your moods will follow suit. And remember, You Are What You Think!"Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person,

a beautiful thing."

- Mother Teresa

They say first impressions last - and boy oh boy they were not kidding! How you sound and behave while on the phone with a person can make or break their impression about you. Your phone performance can reinforce an original positive or negative feeling about you.But in the absence of sight, hearing becomes sharper. That’s why it is so important to have a winning attitude on the phone.Your attitude toward callers influences your behavior.

You cannot always camouflage how you feel.Your attitude affects everyone who comes in contact with you, either in person or on the telephone.Your attitude is not only reflected by your tone of voice, but also by the way you stand or sit, your facial expression, and in other nonverbal ways.

Your attitude is not fixed. The attitude you choose to display is up to you.Smiling almost forces you to articulate more - it’s harder to mumble and slur your words when you smile. And a smile comes through in your voice and tone. I find it also helps to stand up or sit up in your chair because your voice projects better and sounds clearer.

Another thing to remember is to act as you want to feel. By sounding happy and friendly, you’re more likely to feel happy and friendly. Also, as Daniel Goleman points out in his book Emotional Intelligence, emotions are highly contagious. Studies show that we unconsciously imitate emotions we see others display, and so people spread their moods to others - whether good moods or bad moods.

So, next time you speak on your phone, speak easy. As soon as you answer the phone, you’re on! You want to start your phone conversation off right. And, because the person you talk with can’t see you, she’s listening even more carefully.Make a conscious effort to sound upbeat and enthusiastic. And smile. People can hear you smile - and smiling can put you in a better state of mind. Another thing to remember is to breathe. It will help you stay calm and sound more relaxed.

A phone conversation isn’t just about speaking, it’s also about listening. And in order to listen carefully, try closing your eyes when that person is speaking so you can focus on what is being said. This technique can also help you read their mood. Is he interested and enthusiastic, or bored and distracted? Is the person you speak with conversational? Are questions and answers flowing easily?

To discover your unique telephone personality, it is important that you try to hear yourself as your callers do. Remember that the way you think you sound may be quite different from how others hear you over the phone.

Start by tape-recording your calls, and play back the tapes when you’re alone and can analyze your telephone personality. You may be surprised by what you’ll hear. Saying mum hum repeatedly, clearing your throat and trailing off to a mumble at the end of some sentences. Give yourself credit for your skills and assess the areas in which you would like to improve. Take notes, listing both your strengths and your weaknesses.

If you have noted anything you would like to change about your telephone manner, practice it on your tape recorder, and keep practicing until you’re satisfied with what you hear. Also don’t chide yourself if you start falling into your old phone habits. The first step toward change is awareness that you’re making mistakes. When you think, "Oh, no,

I’ve done it again," you’re making progress. Next time, you may catch yourself in time. It could take about 30 days of practice to make new habits come naturally. Use your recorder to check yourself once a week and note your improvement. At the end of the third week, you should notice that you have a more positive telephone personality.

And remember, we live in a world where we’re judged by how we communicate with fellow human beings. So don’t let sloppy telephone and in-person communication skills prevent you from succeeding.

If ı had my lıfe to lıve over
