      this is a very good book.because it is a thrilling adventure with james bondit has a good plot and i like when the moscitos come and drink james blood and all james is think about is that one of the moscitos comes along with maleria.so i think you guys should read thisiceking

      An enjoyable follow up to the first of the Young Bond books. James really grows into his own and shows, yet again, that he attracts trouble. Also, we get the first sense of who this boy will grow up to be. Excellent and lots of fun to read.

      Second instalment of the Young James Bond series. Like the first, this story took a while to warm up then it took off. As usual, great story and easy to read.

      I really wanted to like this. To be honest, I didn't finish it. It seems there were two story lines going at the same time, which is fine, but I couldn't see where they were going. I was half way through it when I gave up on it. It's a very slow and dry read. There was page after page of Bond diving and swimming. It was just a very slow read. Life is to short to read slow books

      I wouldn’t recommend it for a child, maybe age 14 or 15 and up. I really enjoyed it as an adult. I am two books into this series and have really enjoyed it.

      Enjoyable fast-paced adventure. The hint of the Bond we all know is most assuredly there but it's a pleasure to get to know him in his pre-007 days. Pirates, a 'damsel-in-distress', cloak and dagger tension, a crazy man who wants to 'rule the world' (or at least his anyway) and snazzy English roadsters (Bond always has cool cars) - fun read!

      Blood Fever starts with a happy girl (Amy Goodenough) at sea with her father, but then pirates attack their ship and kills everyone asides from Amy and her governess Grace. While back at Eton, James joins "Danger Society" against the school rules. All he's aware of is that one of the member's (Mark Goodenough) family has disappeared at sea. But then he uncovers a dark society speaking the dead language Latin operating in the shadows of the school, and vauable paintings are slowly stolen not far away. Is there a connection? James isn't sure. Then he goes on a school trip in the holidays, two school professors are in charge, and James suspects one of them is behind all this. But when James finally uncovers the truth and turns to his other professor for help, he is shocked to find that he has suspected the wrong person. James has no one else to turn to, and he is about to give up hope, when he remembers that he isn't only fighting for his freedom, he's also fighting for Amy's. What is James going to do? Read to find out!Higson has created yet another exciting and thrilling spy adventure full of dark secrets and secret societies. I must admit that I didn't enjoy the 2nd book as much as the first, but my disappointment was only a few chapters. During the 2nd adventure, James is caught up into a bit of romance. Two charming girls gives the book a new taste, this is the only part the Sliverfin had lacked. BLOOD Fever was a bit too BLOODY for taste, but I do not regret reading it.I must say, I find myself suck into the world of James bond, and cannot wait to get my hands on the 3rd Young Bond book: Double or Die.

      I did not enjoy Blood Fever as much as I did Silverfin. Despite this, Blood Fever is probably the better book. Certainly, it reads more like a James Bond novel. The violence is more pronounced and the actual threats faced by the characters are certainly more "adult" (as are some of the situations either described or implied). This story provides more opportunities for James Bond's growth into the man who walks into the Casino Royale with a 00 number. My problem with the story was that it simply had too many disparate elements that Higson tried to bring together (some successfully, some less so). In addition, the villain's "plot" was not the sort of plot that one expects from a Bond novel. But, as in Silverfin, Higson does a fine job of throwing in small bits for Bond fans while avoiding the pitfalls attendant to a "young adult" version of James Bond. I look forward to the continuation of the series.
