NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

“If youre looking for a book to take on holiday this summer, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo has got all the glitz and glamour to make it a perfect beach read.” —Bustle

From the New York Times bestselling author of Daisy Jones & the Six—an entrancing and “wildly addictive journey of a reclusive Hollywood starlet” (PopSugar) as she reflects on her relentless rise to the top and the risks she took, the loves she lost, and the long-held secrets the public could never imagine.

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?

Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.

Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

“Heartbreaking, yet beautiful” (Jamie Blynn, Us Weekly), The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is “Tinseltown drama at its finest” (Redbook): a mesmerizing journey through the splendor of old Hollywood into the harsh realities of the present day as two women struggle with what it means—and what it costs—to face the truth.

Such an attention graving book. Just with the storyline starts to slow down the author pulls you back in. If you enjoy romance, scandal and old Hollywood then you’d enjoy this.

SO GOOD. This book had me at the edge of my seat for the past two days. The character development is truly incredible - I found myself rooting for a character only to hate them later on but then love them too. The story brings out the realistic element of being human so beautifully. 10/10 recommend!

Could not put this book down for 3 days. A surprising story with characters that you will care for deeply. It hit a few cliches at the end and some big moments seemed rather rushed, but nonetheless this is the first book I literally could not put down in many years.

This book was recommended to me by so many people. I refused to read a summary of it and find out what it was about because I actually wanted to be a bit surprised. I could not put this book down. It was a great read and caught myself tearing up from time to time. Many parts of this book were comforting to read in the sense that it gave me permission in a way to be okay with going against normalized ideas.

A lot of the times you see "a page-turner", you soon realise the description is exaggerated. This book does not have that written but deserves is it. Brilliant plot, brilliant dialogues, lots of issues raised, making you think them over and over again.

I’m someone who doesn’t like to know much about a book before I dive in. Skk on once I was half way through the book and discovered who The love of her life actually was, I was shocked and overwhelmed with joy. The book unfolds beautifully and was emotionally raw, and convincing. It’s worth it.

An engrossing story where my sympathies for Evelyn rose and fell, chapter by chapter. Insightful writing, drawing well developed characters and enough of a mystery to make it impossible to put the book down.

I have never had a book make me feel this much. I loved it and i’m going to reread as soon as my heart can calm down from the absolutely magnificent rollercoaster that was. It’s insane. You must read it. I loved Evelyn, wether her actions were right or wrong I don’t really care, all I know is she was fully 100% human, no matter how much people regarded her as not and that’s why I adored and respected her so strongly. Although I don’t think she cares very much about how I or anyone would feel towards her, she’s above that.
