Meanwhile, Debbie’s dad has just found out his workaholic second wife, Aimee, is pregnant. He couldn’t be happier, but she's horrified. Is their marriage going to last?

Debbie’s mum, Connie, has met a gorgeous new man and is all set to make a life of her own. But her family needs her more than ever to sort out all their problems. Will she put her family first, as always, or can she walk away and finally make a fresh start?

Happy Ever After is a new paperback by Patricia Scanlan. It is published by Transworld Ireland and its ISBN is 9781848270442. It is a sequel to Forgive and Forget and I cannot help but think that there will be a third novel as she left alot of questions to be answered about some of the characters’ futures. It is well written and conveys modern family inter relationships and love lives in a compassionate and interesting way. However, the ending was abrupt and short. It tells the tale of newly weds Debbie and Bryan and after the excitement of the wedding and honeymoon their difficulty adjusting to marrried life together. Bryan continues to socialize and spend money like a single man. Debbie is worried about finances and his commitment to their marriage. Her father Barry’s second wife Aimee is pregnant and as an older woman and career driven female she is devastated. Barry wants the baby and pults halt to her abortion. Their marriage is in danger too? Next, there is Debbie’s mum Connie who has met Mr.Perfect. Will love blossom? If you are a Patricia Scanlan fan, apart from the quick ending , you’ll enjoy this too. A TIME OF RECKONING

CHAPTER ONE

‘Welcome back, Mrs Kinsella.’ Sally Ford grinned as Caitriona Slater gave Debbie a hug and Ciara Williams plonked a cup of coffee on her desk and said, ‘Photos!’

Debbie glanced over at Judith Baxter’s office, half-expecting her boss to emerge and send them scattering back to their various desks. It was such a relief coming into work knowing that she wouldn’t be here. It made her first day back from her honeymoon so much easier. She smiled around at her friends and colleagues and was delighted with the warmth of her welcome. If it weren’t for Bitchy Baxter always on her case, work would be much more
