Book Abstract
Throughout our history as a nation, we have faced challenges and turned them into opportunities. Today, the United States is confronted with many problems, including the situation in Iraq, terrorism, poverty, injustice, and racism. Kennedy believes we must face these problems without fear and with honesty and reason.
He asserts that today’s leaders, unlike President Lincoln, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and President Kennedy, are unfortunately not looking at these challenges directly, openly, and honestly.
Our democracy is in disarray.
