Introduction
Like most capital cities around the world, Bogotá has its share of historical sights and gleaming, shining buildings. Bogotá hasn't seen the same kind of transformation Medellin saw in the post-Escobar decades, but then it also wasn't destroyed to the same degree. The city itself is high up there: 2,640 meters above sea level, or 8,660 feet. (The first day of this itinerary is set up to help you take it easy in case of any issues with altitude sickness.)
