About this ebook

This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Jesus are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the book of Numbers. They are: Light; The word, the form and the servant of God: Between Moses and Jesus; Gift to Jesus; and Looking unto Jesus.
Excerpts:
Light
“Before Jesus moved across the earth in his ministerial mandate, he was lit by the Holy Spirit; otherwise he could not confront the darkness in the world. He could not be a great light. He could not go about doing good, healing those who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). He could not live supernaturally, representing God on earth.”
The word, the form and the servant of God: Between Moses and Jesus
“What more, God has given the judgment seat to his son (John 5:22-27). If you want him to like you, then believe in him. In the book of the Hebrews we read that Moses was faithful to God as a servant while Jesus was faithful over his own house, as a Son (Hebrews 3:1-6). That was part of the attempt of the writer to create a distinction between Moses and Jesus. Saying, really there is no argument at all, it is a non-issue. Jesus is no match for the angels (he created them), and his sacrifice is superior to the sacrifice of the Levitical priesthood (Hebrews 7), and he is the Son, while Moses was a servant, i.e. Moses was the servant of Jesus.”
Gift to Jesus
“Paul was a man who gave it all it takes, to be the best gift of God he can be from God to others. He stood firm in the face of opposition, committed to the task he was given with single-minded devotion, standing out in his generation. You are a gift and you need to be sharpened to deliver on your mandate more effectively.”
Looking unto Jesus
“There is empowerment in Christ; we are empowered with the word of God by the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), by the release of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 12:1-12). Paul said to the Roman church that he desires to come to them to impact on them some spiritual gifts so that they may be established (Romans 1:11). In another place, we read that it is good that the heart be established with grace and not with food (Hebrews 13:9) which has not profited those who are occupied by it, and grace and truth comes from Jesus Christ (John 1:14-16).”
