Paco Godia entered a works Maserati in the 1951 Spanish Grand Prix, thus becoming the first Formula One driver in his country's history. After this he drove intemittently throughout the 1950s until he quit in 1958. Paco Godia became a patron of the arts in his own country, establishing the Fundacion Francisco Godia in Barcelona.

    Paco Godia, sometimes known as Francsico Godia-Sales (March 21, 1921-November 28, 1990), was a race driver from Barcelona, Spain. He competed in 14 Formula One races, driving Formula One cars intermittently from 1951-1958. Godia's parents were supporters of the Fascist regime of Francisco Franco in Spain.

    Paco also drove in many non-championship races. Fundacio Francisco Godia was established in 1998 to honor Paco Godia. A permanent collection it features works of medieval art, ceramics, modernist drawings as well as 20th century art. There are paintings by
