      Chapter One

      Paul slammed his palms against his steering wheel and let out a string of cuss words against the inside of his tinted windshield. He lost again, for the third time, to that same damn red Mustang and he was getting sick of it. What really ticked him off was that the driver was too full of himself to even step out of the car to collect the cash. All Paul ever saw was a black leather clad arm and hand reach out of the slightly open window to collect the winnings. Paul was pretty certain that there was something off about the driver, but without a face-to-face look, it was hard to tell anything about him.

      He threw his Honda into Park, and flung the door open. His black leather boots hit the concrete with emphasis as he strode up to the Mustang. Once again, the black tinted window slid down about six inches and an arm reached out to snatch the cash from Paul’s hand. Paul flung one more cuss word through the open window and turned on his heels to storm back to his friends.

      Dude, they are whipping your ass, Mike crowed, clapping Paul on the shoulder.

      Fuck off, Paul hissed back. He doesn’t even have the common decency to face me.

      Mike laughed and pulled Paul into the crowd of friends. It had been a mixed night for the Honda drivers, and they tallied up their combined winnings and losings. Luckily enough, they had broken even for the night which meant a party.

      Paul and Mike, along with most of the group, all worked at a nearby mechanic’s shop that specialized in Hondas.
