Start with Why by Simon Sinek explores what it means to be a true leader. Many people have lofty goals to change an industry, but few are able to accomplish them. Most are motivated by the wrong things, like money and power, or they go about running a business in a manner that is essentially back-to-front. True leaders and innovators, on the other hand, run a business or campaign by starting with WHY. Figuring out WHY you're doing something will help you draw loyal customers, followers or employees, and sets you on the path toward success.
You will learn:
· What it means to start with WHY
· How failing to keep your WHY in mind can lead to failure
· Why giving your customers what they want doesn't always lead to success.

A person who has a dream of one day becoming someone influential might look to iconic leaders who have come before them; people like John F. Kennedy, the Wright brothers, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Steve Jobs. These powerful influencers had the unique ability to inspire movements and societal change—something not everyone is capable of bringing about.
So, what makes these leaders different? They of course weren’t the only individuals who had lofty dreams or unique goals. In fact, while these people were alive, there were many others attempting to accomplish the very same feats. And yet it was these select few who were able to inspire others and prompt real change.
What distinguishes these true leaders from everyone else is the why that motivated them to chose their particular path. In each instance, their goal wasn’t fame or money. They had drive and passion, and they wanted others to join them along their journey of change. For example, at the same time that the Wright brothers were designing their flying machine, there was a senior officer at the Smithsonian Institution who was given a $50,000 grant from the War Department to develop a flying machine.
This man, Samuel Pierpont Langley, had a highly educated team, the finest materials, and plenty of press
