      This was an excellent resource. In praying for your spouse you are reminded of your own sin and humbled by it.

      Don't be turned off by the cheesy cover. This book helped turn my attitude as a wife from vengeful and vindictive to understanding and forgiving. I pray through a prayer a day (in theory, in reality I get through it once a year or so), but it helps me really think of what is good for my husband.

      I have been praying using this book over and over for a few years for my young adult children. Stormie has covered all the different aspects that a young adult need to be prayed for. My children are doing very well, only when I get to heaven will I know all the things that they have been protected from because of my prayer and petition. Utter these prayers with faith from your heart that God answers them, plant the Word (seed) in your heart, wait patiently and watch it takes root, grow and you will reap the harvest.

      This is an amazingly powerful book. Don't get turned away by thinking she is telling you "how" to pray. I was blessed by reading the prayers, and understanding the truth that was being revealed. Sometimes we have to look deeper at ourselves and pray more for our spouses.

    Introduction

    As long as we live, we parents will always have our children on our minds and hearts. Even after they become adults, we will forever be concerned for their safety, well-being, relationship with God, and success in all they do—from their work to their health, to their friends, to their marriage relationship, to the raising of their children. Because we don’t know exactly what is going on in their lives, we need a way to pray that will cover them and bring us peace in the process. I have written a book about that called The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children, which I passionately invite you to read as well. This little book you are holding contains some of the prayers from that book. It is small enough to carry with you so you can pray whenever your adult children come to mind.

    I believe these prayers will help any parent to have a positive impact on the lives of their adult children. I pray that each prayer will help you to find greater freedom from worry and concern because you are tapping into the power of God, which is greater than anything you or they may be facing. When we take our concerns to the Lord—trusting that God hears our prayers and answers them on behalf of our adult children—our prayers will have the power to effect change in their lives. Who among us doesn’t want that?

    What Every Parent of an Adult Child Needs to Know

    Lord, I know You are the only perfect parent. Thank You for loving my adult children as much as I do. Thank You for hearing my prayers for them. Give me faith to believe and patience to wait for the answers. Help me to not blame myself for anything that goes wrong in their lives. Where I have made mistakes, I confess those to You and ask that You would redeem them all and release me from all guilt. Help me to forgive my adult children for anything they have done to hurt or disappoint me. Today I say, For this adult child I prayed, and You, Lord, have heard my prayers and granted my petition (1 Samuel 1:27). I give You all praise and glory.

    In Jesus’ name I pray.

    Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.

    What Every Parent of an Adult Child Needs to Know

    Lord, I pray You would teach me how to intercede for my adult children. Thank You that You love me and my children, and that You will hear my prayers for them. Set me free from all worry and concern I have about them so I can have peace. Thank You that Your love and power poured out in me means that my prayers for them will have power. Help me to forgive my adult children’s other parent for anything I feel he or she did wrong in raising them. Help me to forgive
