Far Above Rubies

About this ebook
“FAR ABOVE RUBIES” written by a Woman considered virtuous in this generation is timely in a world that is on the fast lane of degeneration in home management and preservation of the divine institution of marriage and family life, which is the cradle of peace, progress and prosperity of any Society or Nation.
The six chapters of 113 pages make one wonder if the author is an Old Testament scholar because of the explicit display of theological facts on the text and subject matter.
There is evidence of accurate knowledge of the subject matter based on deep and sincere personal devotion, conviction and burden for the transformation of our Society and the redemption of the World.
The book is Proverbs 31:10-31 personified and is written from the point of view of the author’s 37 years in successful marriage and home building in submissiveness to her husband in spite of her academic prowess.
Inner beauty is real beauty that is “sine qua non” today and the beauty for the generations to come.
Husband and children in the home will make good profit and gains by reading and applying the contents of this book, drawn from the scriptures, parental upbringing (like the unfeigned faith in Lois transferred to Eunice, to Timothy, and from Timothy to the world), the author’s family/ home being a case of study aligned with the template of “the Virtuous Woman”.
It reveals the divine concept of the role and value of a woman, the joy of a man and his expected role – a collective responsibility to build a home and fix our society.
The book is not limited by religious affinity, gender, age, color or disposition in life.
The author’s desire and plea to all and sundry is to know the fact that: “No matter who you are, or where you may be, you can do something to change the world for the better”.
We dedicate and send ‘FAR ABOVE RUBIES’ out to the world for the benefit of mankind and the glory of God in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FOREWORD
Far Above Rubies, the small book in your hands is, despite its size, a compendium which touches on many aspects of life, especially the Christian life. Given the title the author has chosen, she begins the book by delving into a study of gemstones, a study which enables her to establish convincingly that of all the precious stones in the belly of the earth, the ruby is the most precious. That done, the author proceeds to indicate the qualities which make the ruby the ultimate gemstone. The reader is, in these early pages of the book, lured into thinking that the book is about precious stones and the qualities which determine their hierarchy. But no. This is not the main thrust of the book. The main thrust of the book has to do with life – human life, especially the Christian life. The study of precious stones is merely to demonstrate the similarities between what goes into the forging of the most precious of these stones, and what it takes for the Christian to attain an acceptable walk with God
The author, being a woman and a Christian, discusses what we may call the qualities of a Christian woman. As one reads this section of the book, one is forced to reach the conclusion that that the author has received a divine revelation about the Christian woman. What emerges is the picture of the Christian WOMAN as a man with a womb
- a nurturer, a care-giver, a nurse, a lover, an incubator, a manager, a provider, a source of comfort, a confidant, a sacrificial do –it all
and one who completes the husband.
The author also touches on some of the issues which contribute to the making of great Christian marriages. These include Christian love, sex, beauty, cleanliness, personal hygiene, issues which some shy away from to the detriment of their marriages. There are women who think that looking beautiful is a sin because, in their understanding, looking beautiful could attract the attention of other men. So such women think that being unattractive is being holy. Not so this author, who discusses these issues in a balanced manner. I am fully persuaded that married women will read this aspect of the book to their great advantage.
Gold is not the ultimate precious stone. But even gold has to pass through fire before it attains its best lustre. It is against this background that the author discusses the Christian life. Trials and tribulations will visit the Christian. When these come, the author has a prescription for dealing with them, namely, digging deeper into God, spending more time in His presence with the instrument of praise in the true Judah anointing, communicating with God in the language of praise and thanksgiving. This is the true source of power for the child of God --- born again, tongue - talking and, by His grace walking in holiness. Put briefly, what the author is prescribing is a worship lifestyle even in times of difficulties. The ruby, nature’s most prized precious stone, goes through rough and tough processes to attain its premier place. So will a child of God. The Bible provides us with the undeniable evidence that the path to spiritual greatness is strewn with tribulations which all of the great names of the Bible had to overcome. The ruby, having gone through its agonizing
processes, is hard and shines with polished brilliance. So must the children of God who allow themselves to be shaped by the Holy Spirit and trust in the God who gave them His life. The truth is that temptations, trials and pressure have the effect of toughening, strengthening, refining and purifying the Christian. This is the lot of the true Christian in marriage, in the faith walk and in daily living. This is the way that will ensure that our Father in heaven welcomes us with a well done, good and faithful servant
on that Day. All of this is captured in this priceless book, which I regard as a must read, a pick – up – and – can’t –put down
book.
Far Above Rubies is written in a most excellent prose which makes reading it both easy and pleasurable. The author writes with a passion which leaves the reader in no doubt about her faith in the living God. Reading this book has blessed me greatly. I commend it to the reading public, fully persuaded that all who read it will find it beneficial both in content and presentation.

AUTHOR’S NOTE
The traditional roles of women in the family and society have not and cannot change because they are ordained of God. It is our understanding, willingness and ability to execute them that keep expanding as we are exposed to new truths and knowledge.
The woman is the helper and comforter of her husband, the care provider and nurturer of her children and other members of the household, the peacemaker, mediator and feminine presence in her community. She remains also the pillar, stabilizer and torchbearer of the society as of the family. The woman has a lot of virtues and natural potentials which are more often than not, bottled up in her person. Any woman who knows her onions and is worth her salt can at the least, be described as priceless. The Bible bears testimony to this in the 31st Chapter of the Book of Proverbs.
Women, men and society need to clearly understand the qualities and stimulants required for the woman to unlock her capabilities and occupy her rightful place in order to fulfil her divine mandate in all fronts.
In this discourse, an attempt has been made to
