About this ebook

To worry is to hurt the self only. It also hurts others. Worry is a living fire. It consumes human beings and dissipates their energy. Nature tells us to make an effort, a tremendous effort to do something that you are not able to do easily. But do not worry about it. By worrying, your work will receive a jolt. The person who worries takes the reins into his own hands; ‘I am the one who is making it work.’ There is a punishment for taking on that kind of control.

Human nature is such that if someone slaps you, you would slap him back. But there are also some considerate individuals who feel that the law should not be taken into their own hands. To worry is the same as taking the matter into your own hands. It is wrong to take matters into your own hands. Why should man worry at all? Each and every God has said that people should not worry, and leave everything to Him.

Worries that eat away at you inside, are meaningless. They harm your health and also obstruct whatever is due to you. It is precisely because of worries that such situations arise. One has to think about the good and the bad aspects of any situation, but there is no reason to worry. This worrying is egoism. There should not be any egoism. It is because one feels, 'I am somebody and I am running things,' that one has worries. One worries because of such an assumption as, 'This case will be solved only if I am present.' Therefore the part with egoism has to be dissected; after that it is okay to go on thinking about the essential and non-essential things. This way, it will not eat away at you. Otherwise worries will harm your mental and physical health. When a person is worrying and his child comes to tell him something, he is likely to become furious with the child and hurt the child. So worries are destructive in many ways. The ego is such that regardless of whether a person has money or not, if someone were to say, ' You have ruined everything of mine’, it would cause you endless worries and anxiety. The world will say such things regardless of whether you have done so or not.

These are words of Gnani Purush Dadashri. Gnani or Jnani is the One who has known, is in the experience of, the eternal Self. Purush means the Self. Akram Vignan means means that which is attained without doing anything, and the science behind this. A gentleman by the name of Ambalal M. Patel became a Gnani Purush in June 1958. This happened spontaneously within him. The absolute light of the Self prevailed in him from that time. In that state of the absolute Self, he became the instrument for the salvation of the world. The words that came out through his medium, have become words that are now liberating hundreds of thousands of human beings who were seeking meaningful solutions for their pains. These satsang sessions of the Gnani Purush happened in Gujarati and were carefully preserved and are presented as they are, in many different languages. They are all in the form of questions and answers from Gnani Purush Dadashri.

People are simply unaware of their real Self, and then they have egoism of ‘I am the doer’. One doesn't have control over one's own bowel movements and yet insists that ‘I am the doer of everything.’ Worry itself is ego. Why does this child not worry? That is because he is not yet aware of this false egoism. He doesn't care about who it is that makes this world go around. One has worries because one goes around saying, “ I am the doer, I am the doer!”

In this simple book of Gnani Purush Dadashri you will gain an understanding about worry and anxiety, and thus attain an exact handle of how to become free from worries forever. This is not a false promise.
