    Timothy shares his experience with the mental health care system and autism. Timothy found real social skills coaches who work on things like body language, non-verbal communications, and facial expressions. Timothy talks about the importance of autistic children learning the different social context for each social skill by practicing and applying the social skill in several different settings.

    Timothy shares how his social skills coaches make him practice one set social skill in different places like the mall, a bookstore, a coffee shop, and then a bar. It is also important for people with autism to learn facial expressions so that they are able to properly communicate what emotions they are having to other people and more importantly so other people can communicate the emotions they are having with him so he understands what emotions they are feeling.

    Understanding what emotions others are feeling helps Timothy know what to say to someone and how to say it. Timothy shares how counseling frustrates him because all they do is talk about their feelings and they never actually begin to address the real issues of social skills in a counseling session.
