THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP
Have you ever wondered why it is not always the most intelligent persons, the most talented persons, and the hardest working persons that become distinguished in life? All these attributes are good and should be coveted. But there is something that when it is present, serves as a leverage that propels the one that has them to the forefront among colleagues, and to the topmost echelons among competitors. That thing is friendship.
In the long run, one who has good friends and maintains healthy, mutually beneficial relationships will beat the lone ranger several times over, irrespective of how brilliant or energetic the loner may be.
The Lord Jesus Had Close Friends
Out of the massive crowd that followed Him, Jesus selected twelve disciples. From the twelve disciples, He had an inner circle of three friends, namely, Peter, James and John. From these three, there was one with whom He was so close that at the hour of his departure from the earth, while He was hanging on the cross, He called out to His mother and said, Woman, behold your son!
John 19:25-27
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, Woman, behold your son!
