Reviews for Learn Turkish - Parallel Text - Easy Stories (Turkish - English) Dual Language
3 ratings1 review
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It was somewhat disappointing. The stories were a bit repetitive, set in Italy and Spain, and apart from being translated into Turkish had no reference or meaning at all to the target language. Further, the language it was written in were also not easy constructions. I like being challenged, but was at times well beyond my knowledge of Turkish to decipher the grammatical constructs (which I'd wanted to get out of this book). yes, there are translations but nothing beyond: No grammar explanations, no vocabulary, nothing else. But to summarize: the title "Easy Stories" is what disappointed me the most.

PARALLEL TEXT
La Tomatina’da bir macera
An adventure in La Tomatina
Adım Sean, yirmi bir yaşındayım.
My name is Sean and I’m 21 years old.
New Yorkluyum fakat altı aydır İspanya’nın Barselona şehrinde yaşıyorum.
I am from New York, but I have been living in Barcelona, Spain for six months.
I’m studying Spanish Literature and I’m very lucky to enjoy this experience in Spain.
Fakat bazen çılgınca ve komikçe şeyler olabiliyor. Bugün bir tanesini size anlatacağım gibi.
But sometimes… crazy and funny things happen, like the one that I’m going to tell to you today.
I arrived in Spain in March, and I have since been living with some very friendly boys and girls, sharing with them a beautiful apartment in the city center.
Böylesine güzel bir şehrin merkezinde kalmak bir zevk.
It is a pleasure to live in the center of such a beautiful city.
Her şey çok yakın, üniversite bile. Bu dairede üç arkadaşla kalıyorum.
Everything is very close, even the university. In this apartment I live with three roommates.
Sara Sevillalı, yirmi altı yaşında ve mimarlık okuyor.
Sara is from Sevilla, she’s twenty-six years old and studies architecture.
Jose Barselonalı, yirmi yaşında, mühendislik okuyor ve futbol tutkunu.
José is from Barcelona, he’s twenty years old, studies engineering and he is passionate about football.
Andrea ise Fransa’nın güneyinden bir kız.
And finally, there is Andrea, a girl from the south of France.
Her parents are Spanish, she studies advertising and is also a flamenco dancer.
Don’t you think that they are incredible? We get along very well and living with them is really uncomplicated.
Do you know Barcelona? It’s one of the biggest cities in Spain and is located in the Northeast area of the country.
It is a city next to the sea, therefore it has the best of a big city (discos, big universities, shops to go shopping, restaurants, museums), but also the advantages of a Spanish city being close to the beach in Spain (nice weather, the sea, hundreds of beautiful beaches).
Also, Barcelona is surrounded by mountains on all sides and it’s very close to the Pyrinees, the highest mountains in Spain, where you can ski during the whole Winter and part of the spring.
It is a place to stay, don’t you agree?
Barselona’da ilkbahar çabucak geçti.
The spring passed quickly in Barcelona.
I was very busy studying and in the evenings I played football with José and his team.
İspanya’da sömestre Haziran’da bitiyor.
In Spain, the semester finishes in June.
Derslerimin tümünü iyi notlarla geçtim.
I passed all my subjects with very good grades.
Now, I had the whole summer in front of me, full of plans, near the beach and with many friends to spend my time with.
Furthermore, in Spain, during the summer, in every village there are traditional and popular parties that I have heard of, but many of them were very strange to me and I didn’t understand them very well.
My friend José called me one day in July and invited me to go to a party in a village in Valencia that was going to take place in August.
Bunun hayatımda katıldığım festivallerin içinde en büyüğü olacağını söyledi, tabii
