    I am a retired science teacher/writer, having worked in the UK and US, the author of a series of secondary science texts and a book on creative thinking and problem solving, "Take Charge of Tomorrow -- and Change It!" (Random House, 1997).When researching my book on creativity I came in contact with the late Edward Matchett, a world authority on creativity and genius, who, as the result of a casual aside, got me started studying the famous "Song of Solomon", the "greatest puzzle in all literature". I was surprised to notice in the Song some of the principles I had been writing about. Further study revealed the "Song" to be meticulously structured exposition of the principles of creativity, even genius.Unable to find a publisher for the material, I have self-published it as "King Solomon's Masterclass in Creativity", showing it to be the third part of a wisdom trilogy, along with Solomon's Proverbs and Ecclesiastes..The e-book version is also available as "King Solomon's master class in creativity and genius". The same title is also available in paper back.I have since researched the evolution/creation question, exposing the errors of both parties, and proposing a simple final solution in the book "EvoGenesis -- Easy answers to evolution", the micro-biological content of which has been approved by a top scientist at the HPA, Porton Down, UK.       PREFACE

      According to the classic pattern, over the centuries understanding of complex issues often swings like a pendulum from a traditional Thesis to an opposing Antithesis, then finally back to a middle ground of Synthesis. As knowledge grows that process may be repeated, over and over, refining knowledge in any field.

      So it is that In the past couple of centuries, mainstream understanding of human origins has swung from young-earth creationism, based on a simplistic reading of Genesis, over to Darwinian evolution. However, both positions have now been found to be a mixture of truth and error – suggesting that the time has come for a new synthesis, for which we suggest the name ‘Literal Genesis’.

      Can we separate fact from fallacy in the teachings of both evolution and young-earth creationism – then combine their truths to help develop a more credible new Christian consensus? I believe we can.

      INTRODUCTION

      Anybody paying heed to the mass media over the past two decades could be forgiven for thinking that science has cracked the ‘code of life’ and can now explain virtually everything in terms of genes and DNA – and that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is now gospel truth and the book of Genesis should be consigned to the realms of myth, superstition and fantasy. We aim to show that nothing could be further from the truth.

      The Human Genome Project

      Just when it seemed that Darwinism, armed with the electron microscope and the Hubble telescope, had finally won the war against Genesis, evolution has hit the proverbial buffers, as the Human Genome Project shows that, at the most fundamental level, the DNA simply does not contain the ‘positional’ information or ‘blueprints’ required to shape the formation of any detail of any organism.

      Hence, funding is now being sought for a massive new ‘Epigenetic’ project, to investigate the genome that controls the genome – and how, for example, a caterpillar has the same set of genes as a butterfly, or why a queen bee, starting out with the same genome as a worker bee, lives twenty times as long, etc. etc., etc. Clearly, despite the media hype, it is NOT ‘all in the genes’.
