How to Dress if You Have a Pear Shaped Body Look Fab and Chic - Melanie Miller
Defining the Pear Shaped Body
Did you know that roughly 60% of women have a pear shaped body? You could be skinny, sexy, overweight or average and still bear a pear shaped body. There are many celebrities with this shape such as Britney Spears, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, and even Kristina Davis of Sex and the City. So what defines a pear shaped body?
How to Dress for a Pear Shaped Body
Look at any pear. It has defined curves and is mostly bottom heavy. A woman with a pear shaped body has a larger bottom, mostly around the hips. Their bust will be curvy and you can definitely trace the curves of their body. Balancing your weight with a pear shape figure can easily define you as a sexy woman. Dressing for this type of body can be complicated at times but if you know the secrets to balancing out the attention of the onlookers you can instantly become the star of the show.
Consider the following tips:
First you want to focus on making your figure look balanced. Since your hips are already well formed you'll most likely have a slim neck, sloping shoulders and a firm, slim waist. Use these to your advantage by dressing them up. Stray the people's attention from your bottom area to your top. In short, focus on your top. Good ideas include button down shirts, slim tops, tubes, as well as cardigans. This is also a good way for to focus on showing your waist curves and upper body lines. Play with your accessories along the neckline. Use scarfs, necklaces, chokers, and clothes that will embellish your neckline. A Bohemian scarf or a turtleneck with ruffles along the neck area will easily draw attention upward. This is a really simple and good way to keep people looking at your figure evenly.
Use A-line tops or dresses.
An A-line dress or top is one that is slim on top and then gradually widens out towards the bottom like a capital letter A. When a pear shaped body wears these kinds of dresses and tops the dress will look as if it's even from top to bottom. This will easily disguise the bottom-heavy body shape. Many celebrities follow this philosophy. You can find Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie using body fit,
