World Citizenship
What does it mean to be a citizen? A citizen is a person who legally belongs to a country and thus has the rights and protection of that country.
For example, pretend you were captured in battle and were being held as a prisoner of war. Who would you expect to come and try to rescue you? I think you would expect if you were a citizen of the Unites States, U.S. marines to break down the door to rescue me. If I were a Canadian, I would expect Canadians fight for my freedom. If I were Swedish, how could I not expect the Swedes to fight for my freedom?
As another example, think about what laws and rights you have. If you are a citizen of the United States, do you live under the rules of
