About this ebook
In Unionist East Tennessee one small town along the railroad remained true to the Confederacy. Told largely from a traditional Southern perspective, this book tells the story of the war and the story of Morristown, Tennessee during the war. The book details the frequent fighting which took place in and around the town. The four local Confederate companies are also followed as they battled for the Confederacy. The first and second Battles of Morristown are discussed in some detail, as are Tool's Raid and Gillem's Stampede. By keeping the war focused on one place the book is able to put the war in a different and unique perspective.
