Hector Bean
Hector Bean vehemently denies that his book series "A Dork Named Dodson" is based off of his own life, despite the fact that he wears enormous black-rimmed glasses and is a very large dork. When he isn't writing he enjoys going on walks to the mailbox and watching Star Trek: Voyager while eating chicken-fried steak.

Chapter 1:
A Dorky Introduction
Hey there. My name is Dodson, and this is my diary. Er, I mean, my journal! I almost forgot that diaries are for girls and journals are for boys. Although now that I think about it, what’s the difference between the two? Is there one? Hm… Well, I guess it’s that if you’re a girl, it’s a diary, and if you’re a boy, it’s a journal. Maybe that’s enough of a difference. I don’t really know.
I didn’t think I would ever start a journal, but I figured, Why not?
I’m not really sure if anyone will ever want to read it though, because my life can be a little, well, uncomfortable sometimes. It’s rough, I’ve got to say. And there’s a reason… You see, I’m a bit of a…well…a dork. Yeah, that’s right, I’m a dork. Or a nerd. Or a geek. Whatever you want to call me, it all amounts to me not being very popular in school. I’m pretty socially awkward, and I’m more into nerdy stuff like video games and school work than I am into regular stuff like sports.
But you know what? It’s not so bad. Even if not a lot of people like me, I like me, and that’s what counts. I’ve got my own set of skills. Or…at least maybe I will someday? Whatever the case, right now things are kind of tough, so I thought it would make me feel better to write it down.
Well, I’ve never done this before, so here goes nothing. I hope it’s not super boring or anything. If it is, I guess I can always just throw in a ninja robot monkey attack somewhere, right? Hey, I’m writing this journal, so I can do it however
