About this ebook

Leah Buchanan’s family has been in service to vampires for five centuries. Even so, Leah wants nothing to do with her family’s legacy. But when she’s summoned to her Selection by the Vampire Dominion, under familial pressure, she has no choice but to go.

Lucien has been living under the strict edicts of the Vampire Dominion for centuries but he’s tired of these ancient laws stripping away everything that is the essence of the vampire.

So he’s taking it back.

And this is because Lucien has been watching and waiting for decades for Leah to become available for a Selection and he will not be limited with what he can do with her. He will have her, all of her.

Therefore, Lucien is going to tame Leah, even if he gets hunted and killed for doing it.

What neither Leah nor Lucien expects is the strong bond that will form between them, connecting them on unprecedented levels for mortals or immortals. And what will grow between them means they will challenge their ways of life and their union will begin The Prophesies which makes them one of three couples who will save humanity... or die in the effort.

Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I really wanted to like this book. Especially with all the high reviews. But really I didn't like the book much at all. I liked the writing, it was good, the plot and the characters all had depth, I even liked much of the dialog and snark. But, there was just something missing, and I found myself not caring about anyone, and annoyed by everyone instead. I found the 'world' created was a bit bleak and hostile, and depressing.

However, I did like her take on vampire and 'their' culture. And again, I liked the sarcasm and the writing, it was just missing something, and thus I wasn't emotionally attached to anyone.

I found the main character annoying in every way, except her sarcastic remarks and abilities.

I liked this take on vampires and all things supernatural. There were some unique things I hadn't read before. I can't wait to see where this series ends up as we learn about the remaining members of The Three. As much as I wanted to love it as I have most of KA' s other books, it just fell into the "I really liked it" category. I think I prefer her other genre on MC' s and badass Alpha' s. Lucien was Alpha but not in way I craved but with that said I'll still read anything she writes!

    Leah and Lucien

This story is a fabulously different take on Vampire Lore! This Vampire and Human Romance was very different than most others of this genre and Leah and Lucien were great characters that had wonderful chemistry together. I look forward to the next books in this Series! Book Two is already on my Kindle...

I started this book with very high expectations, since this was written by Kristen Ashley and I must say that the start left me a little wary of where the story was going and hwo the characters and their actions were portraid. Having said that, I'm so happy to say that it was all for nothing!

First the characters: KA has this amazing ability to comunicate feelings through her words and she did it beautifully with Lucien and Leah. At first I thought that Lucien was thsi big, fat, vampire jerk, but then I got to know him and I must say I want one of those too. Leah was this amazing heroine who didn't bow for Lucien nor did she put up with his antics. I simply adored her and loved them together. Oh, and this book was a lot more sexy and bold then we are normally used to by KA. The sex scenes were INCREDIBLY HOT!

As I was nearing the end of the book, I imagined how the second one would link to the first and I was very surprised with the plot KA thought out. Can't wait to read the second one. :)

Wow! This is a great story. I was unsure at the start how this would play out but as it went along the love began to unfold into a saga of hope and eternal love...can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy to see how this supernatural saga comes out.❤???

I LOVEDDD this book! Its amazing and i think the story line was brilliant. There was two problems.
First, I did have problems with it was at the end it became choppy. i understand it was the epilogue, but it was so choppy that i really hated all the parts that was in it.

Secondly, for example, she used great descriptive words, but when you repeat "oh my god" more than twice maybe three times on the page, it makes me think its sarcastic.
or "what does that mean?" it makes me feel the character is stupid but i do understand why its there.

    otherwise FANTASTIC book!!

Admittedly I only made it through the first third of this book, but I had to stop because it was making me so angry. The whole relationship just seems like rape with a dash of Stockholm syndrome. The implication seems to be that it's not really rape if he can make her aroused/orgasm and that is just messed up. I am disappointed because I've really liked Ashley's other books so far, and this book is making me question reading her in the future.

Fabulous, enchanting and completely engulfing. So few books lately are written long enough to last for a good long read. I highly recommend this series. The length of the book did not detract from the story and kept me entertained from the first to the last word. I'll be slowly reading ALL of this authors works and watching for new ones if the level of mastery is matched in other books of hers.

I really wanted to like this book, but it's actually very hard to read. It feels rapey all throughout, with the heroine consistently saying she doesn't want what the hero is doing to her. It's very disturbing, honestly, and it's not a book I can recommend to anyone.
