Esoterica

About this ebook
A delightful collection of illustrations, parables and short stories that is useful for living and believing in the possibility of God and immortality. This book is the official esoteric of the "Church of the Animated Bunny" - a movement whose intention is to modernize religious thought and answers the difficult questions from the modern age by primarily imagining what religion can be instead be instead of what it was.
However, the Bunny is not the main movement of this Church of the Animated Bunny. The primary purpose is to make the founder of this "religion" without human characterization and to do it with humor when possible. It's the ideas - not the person that make a religion or philosophy great! Good ideas tend to be repeated and are a power unto themselves - like angels in the air.

I am retired. I have studied religion and philosophy in my spare time all my life. I can remember at 2 years old wondering where I (consciousness) went when I went to sleep. Been at ever since. I have been construction worker, computer programmer and systems analyst. I had my own handyman business which made about $1.50 an hour...Oh well...

The Eagle and Squirrels
What am I like?
the Spirit of the All Seeing One asked itself. By what analogy or metaphor shall I be compared?
I am like the eagle that flies over the forest and sees the entire forest, but not the individual trees. I know the essence of all things, but I don't know the details of anything except this place in the sky. I see all times and all places at once, but I do not see the details of any particular time or place except this place in the sky. No one but me sees from this special place. If others imagine this place correctly then it will be as if they see through my eagle eyes.
The eagle said, The images from the above are like a blurry kind of vision, but I don't need to know the image details to do my true desire which is the same as God's will. My desire and predestiny is to watch for fires and other dangers to the entire forest, but not to have concern for the individual trees or the inhabitants thereof. There are others who look after the trees. I look after the forest.
Since there are few dangers to the forest the eagle has much time for play and much enjoys life.
The squirrels look after the individual trees. They see the trees, but not the individual leaves as they can only imagine the forest as seen through the eagle's eyes. The squirrels have difficulty in seeing all trees the same like the eagle because they can see differences in the trees so clearly. Yet, all leaves look the same to them.
The ants look after the individual leaves. They see the leaves, but not the individual stems and they can only imagine the tree as seen through the squirrel's eyes. The ants have difficulty in seeing all leaves the same like the squirrels because they see differences in the leaves so clearly. The ant can't even begin to imagine what the eagle sees much less be aware of the eagle.
Yet, all stems look the same to the ant. Perhaps, there are other creatures even smaller who can't understand why the ant can't see the differences.
The eagle is as the circle's center.
Compare to: The Blind Men and the Elephant
Commentary:
This is but one possible understanding of God’s nature
A part of God, God or center of God (the eagle) has basic knowing of the entire Cosmos, but does not know the details. Instead, other parts of God manifestations (squirrels, ants and so forth) each look after
their portion. Each vision of the Cosmos is incomplete with taking in account the others, but the eagle is in the special position of seeing everything but not the details of its own skin
.
Communication and imagination bridges this incompletion in part. Even though some knowledge is misunderstood and miscommunicated, enough is done with enough precision to serve the practical purposes of soul survival.
Another possibility and the one I prefer is that each of us may actually be as the eagle (center), squirrel (middle) and ant (atheist) all in one self with a portion of us playing each part as needed for survival of the entire soul.
Seagull Light*: The One and the many exist simultaneously. Which we see depends on our perspective, our perception at any given moment. Do you step back and see the big picture
(as the Eagle does) or do you focus in on the fine details (as the squirrel does)? Do you focus in so close as to not even realize that the details are part of a bigger picture (as does the ant)?
Seagull Light: How can God have an awareness of two or more things at the same time?
Seagull Light: A single God cannot. That's why we exist as individual beings - we are the eyes and ears of God!
Seagull Light: God sees the big picture
not the details. It is us who see the details but very rarely the big picture. When we see the big picture
it is a spiritual experience.
So what kind of experience would it be for God to see the details? Would that perhaps be a physical experience? (In other words, God manifesting itself in/as creation, as us)?
Seagull Light: God has eagle vision,
blurring all the many together as a single mass (kind of how we see everything in a distant galaxy as a single spot of light). Our vision is squirrel vision,
it's more focused. The more focused you are the less you are aware of. It is like zooming in on something to the exclusion of everything else - like tunnel vision.
Although, in another way, you are also aware of more - you are aware of more details.
*Seagull Light is a professor of World’s Religions in Virginia, USA.

Grandmother's Granary
Once upon a time in the ancient days before writing was invented and farming was still done by hand - lived a wise, but blasphemous Woman. This Woman was held prisoner in the King's palace for her crimes
, but was given special privileges in her cell because of her great practical wisdom. The Grandmother had so offended the males of the kingdom with her wisdom that she was imprisoned on trumped up charges. Everyone in the land called her Grandmother for she was very old and her descendants were so numerous as to be like the Sky and all the stars therein. No one knew exactly how old she really was, but none alive could remember a time when she was not called the Grandmother
.
Grandmother,
the King's messenger said to the wise Woman the King seeks your counsel.
Does he now?
said the wise Woman tauntingly, Have the priests and counselors failed to please the King once again with their advice?
Grandmother,
the messenger continued, The King is very upset. For the last two years the God(s) has only sent a little rain. Our corn crop has been very meager. All of the livestock have been killed and eaten. Now the people even eat the dead in some places. There is much lawlessness. Pain and suffering are everywhere in the Kingdom. Nearly all the life giving energy from the land has been consumed. Tell us, Grandmother, what transgressions we have done against the God(s) to deserve this?
Transgressions against the God(s)?!,
the blasphemous Woman interrupted, The only Transgression I see is that there was no preparation to save the surplus corn in the good years to get through the bad years. Instead, much was left in the fields for the crows to trample on and eat. That which could have been saved for the future, was carelessly given to the dogs. Much that could have been saved in granaries for the collective wellbeing was completely wasted on the pests of field and transitory beggars.
Tell, the King to build granaries like unto the Great Library, she continued,
and have them filled with corn during the good years. When the bad years come the King should disperse the granary corn and prevent the famine."
As far as this year goes, tell the King to sell some of the family jewels and buy spare corn from all of the neighbors. If he doesn't do this now, he may not have enough of healthy workers left to build the granaries he will need for next famine.
But what if next year is also a bad year?
the messenger asked.
Then the King will have to sell more of the family jewels or let the Kingdom be destroyed,
the wise Woman replied. Is that any different than this year? But, have faith. How many times has the Kingdom ever had 3 bad years in a row?
Never, that I know about.
the messenger replied, But if the God(s) really wants to destroy us. He will just find another way to do it even with the granaries.
True. You are right. There is no sense in doing anything. Let us just starve. Hmmm, Let us be like leaves in the wind being blown where ever the wind takes us. Let us say to ourselves 'we have no free will against the God(s)'. Let us pray and make sacrifices and perhaps the God(s) will change its mind and spare us. Let us never call ourselves Children of the God(s) for it may offend the God(s), but let us be called Slaves of the God(s) and perhaps the God(s) will think we are but babies and have mercy upon us.
the blasphemous wise Woman replied.
Hmmm, on the other hand, perhaps the God(s) will simply change its mind if s/he sees we are making efforts to look after ourselves like all the neighbors around us do and are not destroyed. Perhaps the God(s) is only punishing us because we expect it to give us everything. Perhaps we are all supposed to work to get the life giving energies from Heaven. Perhaps, God(s) needs to work to make the energy? And so now, the God wants us to learn how to take care of ourselves and grow up a little - so that we may truly be called the children of the God(s).
The wise Woman added, Ask the King what is the most promising course of action: To pray and make sacrifices for the Father to take care of us, to cry and prevail upon the Mother to come to us, or for us to learn to take care of ourselves like the God(s) do?
Moral: Whosoever learns the proper way to take care of themselves helps the God(s) take care of ItSelf as well, and will be blessed.
Commentary:
Don't expect any so-called belief, infallible authority, fact, word or prophecy to make things final for you. Make preparations in case your beliefs fail. For the Lord Father will surely seek to destroy all belief systems that challenge Him. For it is the Lord Father's competitive nature to destroy all that challenge Him and make Himself Supreme. But the Lord Father believes more in the God Mother then Himself. Believe in the Mother, therefore, and she will guide you in the safe Way of all paths, for She is God. In this both the Mother and Father must agree in order for either to survive.
A spiritual granary
prevents much pain, suffering and energy death and isn't really that hard to make. Make your own spiritual insurance
to avoid extreme belief catastrophes which can easily be prevented by always keeping some good insights private and secret. For these secrets will give you energy in those times when you feel your energy is low and the collective energy pool is too low to refresh you. For it is by keeping the secrets that energy can be self-generated. But when times are good then it is time to mercifully share the energy with those that did not know how to save their secrets. There are also other ways to generate energy from yourself.
*This parable was framed with the yin yang essence in mind, and is so written in that style. The author has many concepts of God, none of which seems adequate in itself.
