Descripción

Most of us have dreams but few of us achieve them. Most of us allow our lives to bumble along from one disaster to another without any clear direction. This is a great pity because the ability to achieve whatever we want to achieve is within each of us waiting to be accessed. The Will to Win will help you access that ability.

The Will to Win covers the principles of achieving our goals and gives us a step by step approach that is simple to apply but very effective in changing your future in a positive way.

Richard Mulvey is a successful business man, international speaker, and author who really knows what success is all about and in this book he shares his wisdom in an easy to read and apply format. A best seller in paperback this book is now available as an ebook

Prologue

In 1996 I started to write a book about being successful. I had just completed my first book Presenting for Profit and that was slow to get off the mark. My business had been in existence for 2 years and like many start ups in the first few years I was not yet making a profit, least not that you would notice. I was still driving an 8 year old Audi 400 that had experienced more than 300,000 kilometers of our wonderful countryside first hand and I was selling myself as a success guru.

When I was asked to speak to local corporate businesses I would park my car some distance from the offices in the hope that my host would not feel inclined to walk me to the car. I am not saying it was tough, I don’t remember it like that at all. I remember it as exciting, exhilarating, risky for sure, but every contract secured made a huge difference and warranted a huge celebration. I remember on more than one occasion spending more on the celebration than the contract would make. I guess we needed it.

What then possessed me to write a guide to success you may ask, from a position that most people would consider to be a lack of success.

This is an interesting question, but you know, I never considered myself to be unsuccessful, even in those early days. I always knew what I was doing was working. I always knew that I would make a go of it. I always knew how to be successful. We all do.

You are making a choice. You are choosing whether to be successful or not. Today, right now, you are making a conscious choice whether to make a success of your life or not. Most people decide upon the latter rather than the former.

I finished writing the book in 1997 and there is no doubt that it was a labour of love. It was really my third book (You’ve only got 4 minutes had been published in the mean time) but it was the one I was most proud of and when I developed the series of pocket guides that are the mainstay of my published work I called it number one. All that was six years ago now and the world has moved on. I have wanted to do a substantial rewrite for a few years and as we were forced to go into a third edition (another success measurement?) I decided to take the time and do it. The Will to Win - some more is the result.

I have kept some of the original work and rewritten some. I have added new ideas and reworked old ones. As I reread the final version now I realise that there are still things I would like to have added. That is the
