"I was hooked from the very first page!” – Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of In a Holidaze

"This book is a delight." – New York Times Book Review

A National Bestseller! Featured on Shondaland, Oprah Mag, Bustle, The New York Times Book Review, Buzzfeed, POPSUGAR, Entertainment Weekly, Washington Post, NPR, Culturess, Vulture, and more. Named one of the Best Romances of 2020 by Washington Post, Bustle, and Buzzfeed!

With nods to Bridget Jones and Pride & Prejudice, this debut is a delightful #ownvoices queer rom-com about a free-spirited social media astrologer who agrees to fake a relationship with an uptight actuary until New Year’s Eve—with results not even the stars could predict!

After a disastrous blind date, Darcy Lowell is desperate to stop her well-meaning brother from playing matchmaker ever again. Love—and the inevitable heartbreak—is the last thing she wants. So she fibs and says her latest set up was a success. Darcy doesn’t expect her lie to bite her in the ass.

Elle Jones, one of the astrologers behind the popular Twitter account Oh My Stars, dreams of finding her soul mate. But she knows it is most assuredly not Darcy... a no-nonsense stick-in-the-mud, who is way too analytical, punctual, and skeptical for someone as free-spirited as Elle. When Darcy’s brother—and Elle's new business partner—expresses how happy he is that they hit it off, Elle is baffled. Was Darcy on the same date? Because... awkward.

Darcy begs Elle to play along and she agrees to pretend they’re dating. But with a few conditions: Darcy must help Elle navigate her own overbearing family during the holidays and their arrangement expires on New Year’s Eve. The last thing they expect is to develop real feelings during a faux relationship. But maybe opposites can attract when true love is written in the stars?

"Everything I want from a rom-com: fun, whimsical, sexy." – Talia Hibbert, USA Today bestselling author of Get a Life, Chloe Brown

Enjoyed the story, liked the characters but the audio for what mist be pages that are formatted as text messages was just awful.

Sometimes you just need a sapphic, fake dating, enemies-to-lovers story in these trying times. It made me smile and want to yell at the characters, which is a sign of a good book, in my humble opinion.

Sapphic fake dating! Sapphic Pride and Prejudice retelling! This was so cute!

I laughed a lot and it was endearing. There were some romantic tropes I do not agree with, but nevertheless it was an enjoyable story to listen to.

This was fun and a quick, easy read. I love a fake dating trope and I was excited to see it done with queer women, and I liked how well done queerness of multiple characters was done - not a lot of explaining or worrying about it, just this character is pan, this character is demi, this character is bi, and that's just how it is. Loved the kind of opposites attract vibes. I definitely want to read Hang the Moon now

Such a cute dislike to lovers romance! I appreciated how their relationship slowly develops and their friendship was so good. It also had some sexy scenes that were really great and I wasn't expecting. It's a great read!

I alternated between physical ( ? ) and audiobook ( ?)! The perfect combo for this contemporary queer romance read! A match-making brother, a terrible first day turned into a fake relationship among two people who DID NOT hit it off - what could go wrong? Could real feelings develop within a faux relationship?

I wasn’t surprised at the train wreck that occurred between Elle and Darcy. I loved both of the characters, self assured in their own right and I love love love the ease of the writing in this book. The mother made me want to throat punch her but she had a way of bringing to head the conversation (blowup) that needed to happen for these two to get their ish together and figure it out!

Written in the Stars was a true palate cleanser for me and I’d recommend it to anyone in the mood for a good escape read!

Not exactly my cup of tea.
It was a good story, but it did not feel very original. Still, I thought the characters and the relationship between them were really well written and developed and I like the astrology comments we got along the way. But it also felt a bit repetitive in a sense that it would describe a feeling like 3 times in a and different way.

This is a cute, low-angst, steamy romance. Despite the characters being named Darcy and Elizabeth, the only similarity this book bears to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is that Elle overhears Darcy call her a hot mess after they first meet. So if you're looking for a modern P&P retelling, this isn't it.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received.

This was a cute story, and I was thrilled to finally have a sapphic romantic comedy to binge—and set during the holidays, no less! I wasn’t a HUGE fan of the writing style. Everything felt kind of drawn out to me, but that is definitely a personal preference. The story itself was cute, the romance chemical and addicting, and the characters lovable from Page 1. I love the dichotomy of the two characters and how astrology wove its way through the whole book. I look forward to seeing more from this author and more queer rom-coms as a whole!
