- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great introduction to Hoodoo! A must-read stir black spiritual seekers!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It was ok...as sombody who grew up and was rasied on roots i was highly disappointed on how heavy they incorporated wiccan principles like the rule of 3(rootworkers dont subscribe to that nor that harm nun stuff)....and the fact that its is a traditional pratice and most who DO practice were passed down traditons from family ...it was very generic n promoted Lucky mojo alot ...which is not even ran by african Americans and sells synthetic oils made with dye.....im also disappointed that the writer was not a natural practitioner who took a class?....most the things that were said u cant find on google no real information ....n then she said u dobt have to use the bible when thats LITERALLY what most of it is about ur faith and god moving things for you making somthing out of nothing with the help of God...very new age.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved the author's style; she was approachable and inclusive holding no bias and welcoming of all. While the book focuses on African-American Hoodoo practices, they can easily be incorporated into other traditions. Most important was the overall sense of "don't sweat it, enjoy what you're doing and take care of yourself."
