Nota del editor

Frighteningly good…

Stephen King’s latest release is a collection of four frighteningly good novellas. Escape into these enthralling stories by the, well, king of short fiction. You’ve probably heard of “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” (adapted into the movie “Shawshank Redemption”) and “The Body” (aka “Stand By Me”), so you don’t want to miss his newest shorts in “If It Bleeds.”

Descripción

From number one New York Times bestselling author, legendary storyteller, and master of short fiction Stephen King comes an extraordinary collection of four new and compelling novellas—Mr. Harrigan's Phone, The Life of Chuck, Rat, and the title story If It Bleeds—each pulling you into intriguing and frightening places.

The novella is a form King has returned to over and over again in the course of his amazing career, and many have been made into iconic films, including "The Body" (Stand By Me) and "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" (Shawshank Redemption). Like Four Past Midnight, Different Seasons, and most recently Full Dark, No Stars, If It Bleeds is a uniquely satisfying collection of longer short fiction by an incomparably gifted writer.

Interesting stories, but not really exciting. Really disliked The narration in the 3rd story. Since the main character is a woman - why didn’t they hire a woman to narrate instead of a man doing a very annoying voice?
  • (5/5)
I really enjoyed the stories, especially “If It Bleeds.” Yet, I really agree that people should read “The Outsider” first, then read this story. The others are great! : D

The stories were great and the narration was brilliant except for the second story (Thanks Chuck), that one I didn't connect with at all.

It’s best to go in knowing this is a collection of novellas. It took me a couple stories to realize they weren’t connected. The novellas themselves were interesting. I’d like to see some as novels.

I respect Stephen King for always coming up with interesting twists to engage the reader. Although this was not one of my favorite collections of his, it whetted my appetite for more.

It's not bad but the first two books just feel unfinished. Book 2 doesn't even finish the most interesting part. Love the narrator though, he really nails hollys tone.

Classic Stephen King. His words have always painted such clear pictures. And if it bleeds doesn't disappoint.

As always King delivers. This time in four shorter novellas. Each was terrific and its own right.

Ugh. Too much liberal-ing going on. Why all the political commentary at every opportunity when it was never needed and had absolutely nothing to do with the story or situation? Your whiny snowflake is showing, Mr. King. Not to mention three of the four stories had the typical lame endings the author is famous for. And having stories set in 2020 was obviously a bad idea. 2020 has been such a garbage year, and now nothing of the real world is reflected in these stories. A new book that's already aged badly. NOT even close to one of his mediocre best. Listen, or read, at your own irritation.

My fist Stephen King book and was not impressed. Of the four stories "If it bleeds" was the only decent one
  • (1/5)
Dumb product placement. Not catching story. King should try something new. dying for example.
  • (1/5)
Four novellas that should have stayed in the trashcan. Skip this one.

You will need to read The Outsider for the title story to really work. Lucky for you, that book is awesome, as is this collection of short stories!

The stories are good, but I cannot stand the voice, it makes Holly Gibney sound really damned annoying and weak and wavery, ugh
