There’s only one likeable character n this book and he plays a very small role.
The whole story is creepy and I don’t know why. It is never really resolved.
The treatment of the daughter makes no sense and has no basis. She is just left to defend for herself and generally bullied and chastised by the adults around her and her father is particularly unkind, why?
    The whole story is unbelievable.
