About this audiobook

With Love and Other Scandals, bestselling and RITA Award–winning author Caroline Linden launches a scandalously sexy new historical romance series set in Regency England.

Joan Bennett is a breath away from being a spinster. She’s had four seasons without a suitor. After reading a shockingly sensuous book, Fifty Ways to Sin, Joan decides perhaps it’s time to stop being proper and start being sinful, while she’s still young enough to enjoy it. And what better partner than her brother’s drinking mate, Viscount Burke? He seems the type to know how to give a lady a lascivious adventure.

It seems that the viscount has qualms about trifling with a friend’s sister. That’s the way to end up betrothed. And he doesn’t want that—or does he?

This story was too much fun to read, and the reason for it is the witty, banter filled dialogue, and not just between the main characters, but between everyone that’s inside this story. Secondary characters were as much fun as our hero and heroine.

Caroline Linden is one of those authors that can do witty very well and this book proves it.

Our heroine is nothing like the women that usually attract our hero, and he is in for a rude awakening as she starts burrowing under his skin with her plain looks, atrocious attire and determination to expand her sexual education with a book titled ’50 Ways to Sin’ and possibly Tristan’s help as well.

Plot in this one was too predictable, yet I didn’t mind it so much because of the fast pace and way too entertaining story. If you’re a fan of this author, you’ll buy it and if you’ve never had the pleasure to sample Caroline Linden’s books then this is a perfect book to start you on the journey of discovery of her wonderfully funny, entertaining and always, always sensual books.

Fantastic from start to finish! I didn't want it to end.

This delightful Regency romance features an unlikely heroine- Joan is too tall, too outspoken, and too plump for the fashion of the day. Luckily for Joan, her brother's rakish friend Tristan is able to see beyond her unflattering dresses and hair to the sparkling personality beneath. Watching these two gradually fall in love is very enjoyable, even if the sudden illness departure of her parents seems a little too convenient. I would have liked to see more resolution of aunt Evangeline's love story (though perhaps that will come later in the series). I also thought that Lady Bennett's recovery from what sounded like consumption was a little quick and unrealistic. Regardless, the story is engaging- I loved the description of Tristan's surprise "drive"- and definitely makes me want to read the rest of the series as it is published.

This book was quite intriguing. I enjoyed it very much. Joan is a bright woman with a taste for adventure which she finds with Tristan - who has a taste for Joan and one for being scandalous! Joan's aunt is also quite a character as well.

A nice story about a woman coming into her own and finding romance with her brother's rakish friend.

What a fun ride. The banter was fantastic, as were the characters. I would've enjoyed more meat at the end, this book really felt like the wooing and skimped over a part which I enjoy, learning to love each other.

Still, in tone and content-a fun, engaging read.

3.5, read with the HRBC group.

4.5 rounded up. I really enjoyed these characters and their interactions. I liked the insight we got into their feelings and how they developed and weren't just instant at first glance. They grew as characters. It was great. I will totally read more books from this author.

I LOVED this book. Every bit of it. It made me so happy the entire time, and I wanted it to go on forever. Needless to say (although I of course will) Tristan and Joan are my new favorite couple and Caroline Linden is now on my list of favorite authors! This story enraptured and seduced me from the beginning. The sass was high, the lust was strong, and the love was palpable. It’s as though I can’t speak of this book in terms other than cliche because that’s how happy and light and hopeful it left me. If I could choose an author to write the story of my life and a romance for the history books, it would be Caroline Linden.Honestly if you trust me in any way, if you even just like historical romance, PICK THIS BOOK UP NOW and you will not regret it.

Just enough angst about size and appearance to get on my chubby and plain shelves. Sweet and fairly simple romance, liked the chemistry between the hero and heroine! (3.5 stars)

Pretty good. very typical in a way. Rake hero who had a sad childhood. Super spunky heroine who finds herself falling in love in spite of herself. Nothing much happens but an easy fine read. There is chemistry in my opinion.

I received this from first reads for an honest review. I was really into the book from the very beginning . I loved Joan's character. I'm glad Evangeline taught her to be proud of her height and showed her ways to dress to flatter her figure. The Fifty Ways to Sin books all the women were secretly reading reminded me of course of a olden days Fifty Shades of Grey.Tristan was a scandalous rake but I was rooting for him to get with Joan through it all he was likable and had a good heart. I loved the juicy parts at the end. I'm looking forward to reading the second Scandal book . I really like the author's writing.
