Lynn Cullen is the author of picture books and novels - including the historical novel I Am Rembrandt's Daughter (published by Bloomsbury). She lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She then went on to earn a law degree from Harvard and worked as a lawyer for several years. - (3/5)This story's climax was too improbable and over the top for me. At the beginning of the book, I was confused about the characters. As it developed, they became more clear. The historical pieces about Betty Crocker and encephalitis lethargica were interesting. However, the tying together of all the strands of issues at the end did not ring true. I did finish the book but could not recommend this one.

Different choices of spouses and family situations.Liked hearing about Betty Crocker, learned some things I did not know.Book goes forward in time then back to when they were teens growing up.Lots of family secrets come to light and some of them left me with my mouth wide open, like hit with a ton of bricks.Didn't really care for the story but did like the words the author used and the detailed descriptions.Acknowledgements are listed at the end.Received this review copy from Gallery, Pocket Books Gallery Books via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. #NetGalley
