About this audiobook

In this part-manifesto, part-memoir, the revolutionary editor who infused social consciousness into the pages of Teen Vogue explores what it means to come into your own — on your own terms

Throughout her life, Elaine Welteroth has climbed the ranks of media and fashion, shattering ceilings along the way. In this riveting and timely memoir, the groundbreaking journalist unpacks lessons on race, identity, and success through her own journey, from navigating her way as the unstoppable child of a unlikely interracial marriage in small-town California to finding herself on the frontlines of a modern movement for the next generation of change makers.

Welteroth moves beyond the headlines and highlight reels to share the profound lessons and struggles of being a barrier-breaker across so many intersections. As a young boss and often the only black woman in the room, she's had enough of the world telling her — and all women — they're not enough. As she learns to rely on herself by looking both inward and upward, we're ultimately reminded that we're more than enough.

I loved the story. I loved her reading of it. There's a lot of motivation within the story without it being some gimmicky self help book.

It has been such a pleasure experiencing “More Than Enough: Claiming Space for Who You Are (No Matter What They Say)”! An awe-inspiring read for little black girls like myself (really any little girl ) who turned into women without the representation and a seat at the table we deserved (without the need to fight for it). Elaine Welteroth discusses and shares with us her life, her mistakes and not so great decisions, her goals, her fears and self-doubt, her triumphs and successes. She is the big sister that we all need, pushing us to demand and go after what we need and want. Her guidance in this book is so thoughtful, so inspirational and encouraging. She encourages us to “step boldly into what’s next”... and “when the world tells you to shrink, expand”, just a few of the many quotes in this book that stood out to me. I could go on and on about her wisdom, but instead I will tell you to read it or listen to it ? and experience the goodness on your own instead!!

This was the perfect read to conclude my week and the perfect compliment to a work meeting I had this morning! Just honestly get yourself a copy of this book and remember “THE WORLD IS WAITING ON YOU”!

This was just the inspiration and motivation that I needed at this very moment in my life. Not only was it well written, but it was superbly narrated by Elaine. Her parents’ presence in the narration just was the icing on the cake!! Best audiobook I’ve heard all year!!

Love this book. Kept me hooked and finished it in just two days. The book gave me the much needed courage that I need to step into the next chapter in my life. In the words of Ava DuVernay: the universe is calling me to be a little bit braver right now. If the same goes for you, read this book for a friend along the way. Thank you Elaine for sharing your story.

This was a recommendation of Scribd, so I had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised as the story unfolded. I really enjoyed listening to the author of this book, as she read it aloud. I also enjoyed the voices of Elaine's parent's speaking at the times that her story called for what they had said. Elaine is a prolific writer. Hearing the interview that Elaine did with her parents at the end of this book, was a really nice personal touch. I recommend this book. Especially for young teenage girls.
