Best known for her eponymous role in the hit 1950s TV sitcom I Love Lucy, she also starred in radio shows and appeared in dozens of films and television shows throughout her career, winning numerous awards, including multiple Emmy Awards, the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award, and in 1987 the Lifetime Achievement Award in Comedy from the American Comedy Awards.

      I randomly selected this book on a road trip and could not have enjoyed it more! As a xennial, I grew up on I Love Lucy reruns on Nick At Night. I’ve always been a big fan of hers! Hearing so much about her childhood and career in her own words was more engaging than I could have imagined!

      I’m a big I Love Lucy fan, so I enjoyed this autobiography. I recommend this audiobook narrated by her daughter. Lucy is upbeat, positive, and sees the virtues in almost every person who has had a part in her life. I didn’t like her word choice a lot of the time, nor her hopeless worldview. But I especially enjoyed learning about how she grew up and the events that shaped her life.

      I loved every minute of this book. I've always been a fan of Lucy, but this book of her memoirs will help you feel like you know her . Hearing about her childhood all the way through until she marries her second husband. The in-between is nothing short of amazing!

      I enjoyed this very much. Because it’s narrated by the daughter, it was very easy to forget it wasn’t Lucille herself. I only know of this show because of other shows tributes and the movie. I felt unhappy that such a strong woman had to conform to such a patriarchal time. I can’t even get with the way things are now! Great peak into the day and age of my grandmother.
