The second book in this series was worse than the first by a lot. I thought it would never end. How many times can one man be ambushed or beat up? Ridiculous scenarios that were so unbelievable and unexplained. How in the world could a train full of food only seven miles outside of a town go unnoticed for months? How could 2 different groups find it at exactly the same time? Why did all those citizens from the bigger town go along with one man and go on a rampage against a small community? Why were the good guys pinned down in the church building, yet one guy could keep coming and going to get weapons and things they needed? Such ridiculous contradictions over and over in this book. The characters were just too unbelievable and the situations were so outlandish. I would not recommend this series to anyone that loves this kind of genre as I do. I usually enjoy this genre a lot, but not this time.

Really bad again. I would have given it a 2 if ron, dutch and the sheriff finally had the threesome. 3 if Shane had killed Jack and helped us all.

I adored Winchester’s first book; but what in holy hell was this? This surely his “Temple of Doom” in his trilogy. The constant bickering and bitching by characters made this a high school drama. I’d give it a 1 Star if I didn’t love the first book so much. Here’s hoping the third is far better.

The story was a bit boring, and it seemed repetitive. The idea is good. it just lacked substance.
