A great suspense novel about a missing girl told in three perspectives: the friend, the witness, the father.Ella is on a train and witnesses two girls flirting with two young men who were recently released from prison. After ignoring her maternal instincts to contact the girls’ parents, Ella finds out the next morning that one of the girls, Anna, has gone missing.A year later Anna is still missing but her friend Sarah (the girl with her on the trip) and Anna’s parents seem to be hiding secrets. Someone knows where Anna is, but who is it?
Rating: 4Don't eavesdrop and then you won't find yourself in Ella's situation! She's on a train, en route to London, and watches and listens to 2 teenage girls being chatted up by a couple of older men - what should she do? She's then horrified the next day to discover that one of those girls has been reported missing, then someone starts sending her messages. Told from several points of view, all of whom had something to hide. I wasn't much interested in the floristry sections nor those about one of the characters wife and baby, so skimmed them. Ella seemed to be on a huge guilt trip for someone who was a complete stranger to the girls which did get a bit tiresome! However the book was easy to read, enjoyable and kept me intrigued, and involved in the story.

Found I got lost with continual changes of direction. Characters are not likeable, just blah. The suspence of what made Sarab think her fatber was disgusting was overdone. I didnt care after a while.

I couldn’t put this down. I just had to know what happened. A thriller with lots of twists and turns, a creepy undertone throughout and a satisfying end.

This was good, but went on forever. I think they could have shortened the book a bit.

Kept me guessing all the way until the end and the epilogue is really informative also.
Rating: 5What a great turn twister! I did not guess it at all. The whole time I thought it was... spoiler!!... Sarah's father. It's about a missing girl and different viewpoints of the friend, witness, P.I. and the friend's father. Great story and writing. Ending was amazing! I couldn't put it down.

Rating: 2The characters in this mystery(??) are one denominational. The plot was so far off base that it almost wasn't any longer in the ballpark. How in heaven's name can a woman on a train who overheard the exchanges between two girls and two guys...be responsible for anything that happened to them? She doesn't know them...only heard their first names in conversation...doesn't know anything about their background...doesn't know any contact information for their parents or even who these irresponsible parents are...be expected to contact them and tell them that their teenage girls are going to go off with two guys that just got out of prison? Ella beats herself up for not phoning the parents, whose names nor phone numbers are known or available to her...she gets notes that she classifies as threatening stuck through her door for over a year but never contacts the police. The entire bunch needed their heads examined. My advice on this one, for what it's worth, is don't waste good reading time on this one.

Worried that the two girls might be in danger, she decides she should report it. However, something else she sees makes her change her mind. But when Anna goes missing and Ella reports what she saw, she finds herself the victim of a harassment campaign. Driven as much by to her sense of guilt as the harassment, Ella decides to hire a private detective to find out what really happened to Anna. It soon becomes clear that almost everyone involved is keeping secrets including Sarah. Someone knows what happened to Anna and they are watching Ella. When I first started reading I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll, I was expecting a thriller similar to Girl On the Train. This, however, is definitely not that. It is divided into several different viewpoints including The Witness (Ella), The Father (Anna’s), The Friend (Sarah), and The Private Detective and occasionally the culprit whose viewpoint is expressed not by title but by different font. Unfortunately, it seemed like every time the story would start to get exciting, it would switch to a different viewpoint. This clearly was meant to ramp up tension and had it been used more judiciously, it most likely would have. However, because of its overuse, it had the opposite effect – I stopped expecting anything to happen. I will admit, though, that I never guessed the outcome or whodunit but I’m not sure if that is because it was so well hidden among the red herrings (most of which were easily identified as such) or with all the switching back and forth, it just didn’t feel like he/she was all that relevant to the story.Still, if it didn’t keep my attention throughout, I did want to finish it. It is well-written and, if not particularly thrilling, it was an interesting portrait of how the disappearance of a young girl can have ripple effects not only on the family but on those involved if only on the periphery as well as the guilt people feel for the small things they do/don't do that alone would matter little but together, can lead to tragedy. Rating: 3WOW, this story moved me in so many ways. In fact I'm adding this book to my favorites list. The story made me think, what would I do if you saw something that was not right? would I step in and alter the course? Or ignore it? I loved her writing style, so many people telling there version of the story, all struggling with there own issues. I liked Ella the best. I'm giving this 5 stars, how could I not, I love twisted mysteries. I can't wait to read her next story.

The suspense kept me listening! I hated to turn it off. The ending surprised me
Rating: 5There were certainly a lot of plot twists and left turns going on in this book. That certainly kept my heart beat going.I think anytime someone is watching you is definitely chilling. And, I got a lot of chills while reading this one.An enjoyable, entertaining read that may have had a little too many plot twists, but still a good read.Thanks to Thomas & Mercer and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Rating: 4The Witness. The Father. The Friend. The Private Investigator. All are directly or indirectly connected to Anna Ballard, a teenage girl who went missing a year ago. Told from these four POVs, I Am Watching You takes a look at a crime from the perspectives of those impacted by it.I enjoyed getting a look into each of these characters lives and how this event shaped them, but I felt the first half of the story really lagged. Not a lot happened and the author had a habit of leading to a reveal just to change point of view before we actually learned anything. I don't mind this technique if used sporadically, but the constant mini-cliffhangers made me want to skip ahead to that person's perspective again just to get a fuller picture. With the start of the second half, the pacing picks up and we finally get movement and an idea about what may have happened to Anna. There are a few twists and red herrings to keep you guessing and I will say that I did not guess correctly what happened.
