About this audiobook

It's been over two years since the zombie apocalypse changed the world. Zach Gunderson is still reeling after the brutal massacre of most of his loved ones and the abduction of his two children. There is only one person in his life now, Kelly, the sole survivor of the massacre. The two of them have carved out an existence for themselves, but in spite of Kelly's steadfast devotion, Zach finds himself questioning the purpose of trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.

Still a good story and decent continuation of my favorite post apocolyptic zombie book series but it just does not have the same feel as it did with Fred,Julie,Andy, and the rest of Zacks family. Terribly plot holes like the one about the one body being missing and wether Fred was dead or not, mistakes such as after little Jose was killed being brought up as if still alive again??? Finally I found it incredibly disrespectful, annoying and racist to make the "Mexican family" sound so stereotypically ignorant and heavy accented and not American citizens. That shouldn't even matter anymore. They also left it hanging in the air why Zack thought the other immune girl was dead and those two assholes brothers I just could NOT STAND! Just like Janet throughout the entire series up until now. Even then she is still a huge bitch. I also hate how minimized Zacks grief for his wife and family was even stating he v slept with Kelly just a few days after the massacre and Julie's death DOES NOT MAKE KELLY THE KIDS NEW MOTHER. I don't blame Janet for any sour feelings towards her.

Well read. Narrator has a good pace, voice and no offputting strange inflections. Plot is good, story arc is decent. I do not regret listening to the series lol.

The saga continues with Zach and his Newley former crew. I liked the original crew from the first 3 books so I’m biased. Zach who lost his wife in a massacre hooked up with a woman he saved few weeks before his wife death: He didn’t grieve! Kelly is the mother of kids now and is suddenly Zach confident. More plot holes than usual, but I liked how this chapter unfolded with the relocation Journey; This was needed as the first 15 chapters were too monotonous and served no purpose.

Still loving this series. The ending of the last book was a big surprise, so I wasn't sure how the story would continue, but it managed fine. Although I was hoping some characters would reappear. I'm just starting the 5th book and a little anxious that it's the last one out there. I like the zombie aspects of this series. It brings it up just a notch.
