Paul Noble is a great teacher. I really enjoyed the course. I read other reviews that say the content is limited and nothing new in the second part, etc. The goal of the course is actually to prepare the learner help remembering the key points naturally, so I find repetition is one of the plus points of the course. The more we repeat the words and grammar points, the more we become fluent.

The best resource out there (and I have tried almost all of them!). You get totally hooked with Paul's easy style and before you know it, you can speak!. I have lived in Germany over two years and the last 3 hours have imparted the most learning of this lovely language.

This really works. I’ve started to learn german 5 months ago and it was and it is quite a struggle. But this audio book is quite good and intuitive. I really liked it!

Language courses are painful by their nature: having to sit and slowly have grammatical rules explained is boring, it hurts your brain to adjust to all the new weird rules, and progress will always feel too slow given how complex learning a language is. However, as language courses go, this was surprisingly pleasant and thorough, and provided a lot of useful practical information very quickly.

Noble's methods seem to be based on Michel Thomas' , with the added advantage of using a native language speaker in order to learn proper pronunciation. At the beginning, this method feels to be going much slower than language courses usually do, but by the end, you end up with a much more instinctual understanding of how the language is put together and feel comfortable speaking it.

You're not going to become completely fluent in German by the end of this course, but it's still a good time investment for a beginner, since it will provide context for all the drudge work you'll eventually have to do.

What Noble is actually teaching you here is how to go about becoming fluent in a European language - work slowly, become familiar with cognates, don't stress if you forget something, and drill the grammar until it becomes instinctual.

I wish this course -which admittedly helped me hugely even now, since it taught me to correct a lot of very basic mistakes - had been available to me when I started learning German.

Easy to understand, and helps a lot for begginers to learn basics

I thought this was a really good way of learning German, although you really have to begin from scratch- pick something else if you have any prior German or you'll waste a lot of time. I also wish the vocabulary was more generally applicable. More why/when/because and less "double room with bath" I mean, does anyone actually walk into a hotel and ask for that in this day and age? Seriously? All in all, great for complete beginners.

No matter what your level is, if you have not started speaking German with your current theoretical knowledge then go for it. It would help to build your muscle memory and may give some confidence to speak at some extent.
