      After her father's death and her mother's disappearance, Enola Holmes escaped her older brothers and went into business for herself as a consulting detective. The case of a missing duchess brings her and Sherlock Holmes together, and Enola must decide whether to maintain her lonely freedom or hope that her brothers have changed their minds about controlling her.

      This book's mystery is pretty lightweight; far more time is spent on Enola's relationships with her brothers. I was glad to see a resolution there, but I wish this series could have continued forever, with its exquisitely described historical context and its wonderfully sensible heroine.

      This final Enola Holmes mystery finally answers the question that has been hovering beneath all the other stories: where is Enola's mother? It also has Enola looking for Lady Blanchefleur del Campo who disappeared one day into London's new underground. Sherlock is also looking for Enola but, this time, it is because a strange package has been delivered to their family home for her. Sherlock has moderated his goal for Enola too. After being educated by Florence Nightingale in the previous book about the horrors of proper boarding schools, he is rethinking his plans for Enola's future. However, Mycroft is the one with legal authority over Enola and his thinking about her future hasn't changed. Again this book has a cipher that has to be decoded, disguises aplenty, and lots of adventure in Victorian England. It also has a maturing Enola and a new relationship for her with her much older brothers. This was a satisfying conclusion to an excellent historical mystery series.

      Enola finds that she needed a new home as well as new disguises since she was exposed helping Mrs Tupper in the previous mystery. There appears to be another case of a missing Lady Blanchefleur del Campo. Sherlock finds that he is also working on the same case. It does amuse Sherlock that Enola is quite successful in solving mysteries. She finds questions and possibly answers when she meets a gypsy. The woman seems to know things about Enola and her mother’s disappearance. She offers vague information regarding her mother’s whereabouts. Coincidentally, it is Sherlock who receives a package for Enola just before her 15th birthday. They know it is from their mother as it is ciphered in such a way that only Enola can decipher it. This book wraps up many loose ends from the previous books.

      Enola is searching for a missing woman, initially in competition but ultimately in partnerships with Sherlock. An encrypted message from her mom does not convey good news. Delighted to note that this series will continue.

      I love these books not only must Enola solve a crime she must outwit her two famous brothers. This had a decent mystery at it's core although it seems pure luck that Enola, Sherlock and Mycroft stumbled upon the two kidnappers.

      The ending was very satisfying, aand I look forward to the next book in the series with is due out later this month.

      This series! It always manages to leave me smiling, and I can't imagine a more satisfying finish. I LOVED the family interactions here, the mystery was almost an aside for me. Hooray for sleuthy teens!

      The Case of the Gypsy Good-bye by Nancy Springer is the conclusion to the Enola Holmes series. Enola has one last case to solve and with it comes the answer she's been searching for most: the whereabouts of her mother.The middle three books are mainly focused on Enola's clients and one big mystery which she solves per title. The opening and closing books, though, are more about Enola, her brothers (Sherlock and Mycroft) and their mother. Now we get to find out what happened to her.In that regard, although I remember LOVING the book from cover to cover, I can't really remember Enola's last case. I was so focused on her correspondence with her mother and tracking down those clues that the rest of the book is a complete blur.

      Listened to the audio edition narrated by Katherine Kellgren. I was sad to finish this series, but thoroughly enjoyed the final book. Kellgren as usual was excellent. I just wish there was more Enola to come.
