- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very enjoyable. Lots of the reviews push the angst. I didn’t think it was any more angst than most regency romance. They didn’t drag the big disaster in the end on for too long either. I thought it was great and love narrator.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This, Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed, was a delight. While the essential plot of most romances is boy meets girl (or boy meets boy or girl meets girl - you get the drift), boy & girl have problems, boy & girl realize they're in love, and eventually live happily ever after, it is always a pleasant surprise to see how many ways this can play out, how many stories there are to tell. Seven Nights has all the traditional elements of a romance but it also has imagination and a light-heartedness that makes it a pleasure to read
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. A glorious delight, a sinfully delicious page turning masterpiece. Anna Campbell's craft of brilliance has created an endearing romance novel with characters that practically dance out of the pages. The emotions feel so raw and real that it left me feeling and hurting for the characters. Sidonie Forsythe a young woman who agreed to repay her sisters debt had me drawn to her from the first introduction. The relationship and temptation between Sidonie and Jones make the pages burn with their desire, a read that felt almost impossible to put them drawing you back over and over again like the pull of lust between the two characters.I loved Anna Campbell's writing, the emotions she bought out felt so real. It made me happy and ache for their torture. A little gem I was happy to discover and cannot wait for more from this amazing author. This review is also posted on Goodreads.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I guess I need to come clean before I review this book…I never read ‘Beauty and the Beast’… I never saw the movie either … But if any of those are anything like this story, then they must be good… very, very good!Sidonie Forsythe is a spinster on a mission. She aims to save her sister from a man who is determined to ruin her family, and as she arrives at his home to barter herself to him, she is faced with a man who is not just scarred from the outside, but who is hiding scars deep in his soul.Jonas Merrick is not a pretty man. And his reputation is not any better. He is cynical, cruel to a point of ruthlessness, and a reprobate who has a mission of his own: let nothing or no one come in his way while destroying the man who stole his legacy. As usual, nothing is as it seems and as these two meet, they both begin to unravel their true selves, and as a reader I get to watch this metamorphoses that just melted my heart. Both of these characters are complex and the attraction between the beauty, who is slowly wooed by the beast of a man, is not to be missed. You’ll love every minute of the seducer becoming seduced. And this reader definitely needed a fan for those parts of this tale! If you haven’t picked it up yet, you’re missing a great tale. Ms. Campbell hit this one out of the park! Period!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Defies all logic is exactly the way I'd describe this book as well! I could barely finish this annoying romance between two distinctly unlikeable people. Sidonie, the heroine who's name I had the worst time pronouncing inside my head, was holier than thou at first. But oh how she crumbles completely in the arms of the dastardly hero, Jonas Merrick, whose scars and tortured past make him hard and cruel. Then they have a few blissful days of non stop sex - yet she will not marry him when he asks her! What a nit! Of course she has this big secret that he will not forgive her for when he finds out about it. Then her sister and this murder! All were beyond me, I was fed up 1/2 way through but persevered and finished this romance! I'm not sure if I will read more by this author since it's my first book by her, but this had all the elements of what I dislike in a romance, I'm afraid.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Author Anna Campbell begins her "Sons of Sin" series with "Seven Nights in Rogue's Bed", and quite a beginning it is! The rogue in question is Jonas Merrick, a seemingly rich and reckless illegitimate son of the late Viscount Hillbrook. Jonas, scarred in bullying incident from his youth, hardened his heart along with his muscles and fought his way into power, becoming a broker for the idle rich. As his own fortune grew, so did his desire to ruin the man who had viciously slashed his face with a blade, leaving him forever acutely aware of his facial disfigurement. His greatest goal in life is to bring down William Merrick, Lord Hillbrook, his own cousin who inherited Jonas' father's wealth and estates as his legal heir. Seeking to ruin Hillbrook, Jonas engages in card play with Hillbrook's wife, Roberta. Of course, she is no match at cards for the determined Jonas, and his price for payment of her debt to him is for her to spend a week in his home and in his bed. However, his plan is thwarted when the woman who comes to pay the debt is not Roberta, but her sister Sidonie Forsythe. His ire at being duped is soon overcome by his fascination for the lovely and innocent Sidonie. She is not turned away by his scarred face, and she speaks her mind to him. The more time he spends with her, the more his heart begins to stir along with his desire. Sidonie discovers that Jonas is more man than beast, and she finds herself enthralled by this compelling and passionate misfit. Both Jonas and Sidonie have deep secrets, and the danger of treachery threatens to destroy their newly found relationship. Sidonie must return to her own life and see to the welfare of her sister and nephews, but will Jonas be able to let her go? Can these two hearts which now beat as one find a way to defeat their enemies and triumph in love? Anna Campbell is a master of sensual, suspenseful historical romance, and reading one of her books will never be enough. I look forward to the next two books in the "Sons of Sin" series. Highly recommended!Book Copy Gratis Grand Central Publishing

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5ABOUT THE BOOK:Will a week of seduction...Desperate to save her sister's life, Sidonie Forsythe has agreed to submit herself to a terrible fate: Beyond the foreboding walls of Castle Craven, a notorious, hideously scarred scoundrel will take her virtue over the course of seven sinful nights. Should he forget, even for a moment, the curse he bears, a mere glance in the mirror serves as an agonizing reminder. So when the lovely Sidonie turns up on his doorstep, her seduction is an even more delicious prospect than he originally planned. But the hardened outcast is soon moved by her innocent beauty, sharp wit, and surprising courage. Now as dangerous enemies gather at the gate to destroy them, can their new, fragile love survive?REVIEW: Ms. Campbell has a way of making the most terrifying man look the most attractive. She draws you into your characters and the story and ties you up for the haul. What a spectacular read very reminiscent of beauty and the beast. You fall in love with the characters, hope things work for the best, and just when you think nothing else could happen – BAM – she gets you again. If you are looking for a steamy good read to sink your hands into, this is for you. Five out of five stars for a job well done!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed the first half of the book where the hero and heroine grow into a relationship despite their family conflict and personal histories. Their journey was well written and very sensual. I enjoyed how both of them grew and opened up to each other. However, the middle of the book has a classic "big misunderstanding" which drives them apart until the very end. It was frustrating to have all of the progress in the first half of the book eliminated. This plot device is a personal pet peeve of mine when used in this manner and is the reason for a lower rating from me.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5OK story but too long
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Seven Nights In a Rogue's Bed is the first is this series, and is Campbell's most recent book. I just love fairy tale themed books, and this one I would put at the top of the list. I loved the details that are portrayed in Anna Campbell's writing. Jonas Merrick is definitely intimidating, totally irresistable and scarred, but has a soft heart at times. I loved seeing such a tough man be so gentle at times with Sidonie. We see that he has no real close friends, is alone for the most part, but we see a change to begin in him that I found to be fun to see. Sidonie, I thought was a bit holier than thou at the beginning, but as the story progressed I started to like her a lot more. It was fun to see these two fall in love, and definitely had a rocky start. It didn't take me very long to get into it, after a few pages I was hooked. I just love a good romance that has conflict throughout the story, and always has something that occurs that shocks you-delightfully so I might add. I have really enjoyed this author, but this book would be at the top of my list of hers. Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed is a sensual read, filled with conflict and in depth characters, and a deeply romantic and intriguing read. A Luscious Read!!!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I did not enjoy listening to this book. First of all, I didn't care for the narrator, Antony Ferguson, whose reading style was so slow, and so full of long pauses, that I listened to most of the book with the speed at 1.25. Second, the first 50% of the book seemed to be nothing but long, detailed sex scenes between Jonas and Sidonie. I like steamy, but Sidonie's journey from innocent virgin to hot mamma went by in a flash, and I can easily do without so much description of their every move. I actually liked the last third or so of the book, when things begin to happen, but by then those things felt a little rushed.
Jonas was a fascinating character, scarred both inside and out, and the story of his redemption was very interesting. Unfortunately, that story didn't save the book for me, especially since Sidonie did some pretty dumb stuff along the way. All in all, I understood the lust but never quite bought into the love. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good but not great. I liked the relationship between the main characters, even though it was unbelievable. What I really didn’t like, is the ending. It was too strange and melodramatic.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is actually a reread. Anna Campbell has written here one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast stories. Sidonie and Jonas are each perfect in their roles. She's the virgin sacrifice sent to his (literally) castle in place of her sister to pay off gambling debts. He's out to take vengeance on the cousin who scarred his face but is daunted by Sidonie's courage and honesty. Ms. Campbell knows how to write sexy romances and this is one of her best. There's a little bit of dithering toward the end, but the reader can overlook it while waiting for a HEA.
