About this audiobook

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of the "Flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true--except that they're being hunted by half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" who can fly, too.

In Book 2 of the series, the Flock members are taken under the wing of an FBI agent and try to live "normal" lives by going to school, making friends--and continuing their relentless search for their parents. But the Erasers return, forcing the Flock to abandon their search and make their escape once again. The voice inside Max's head keeps telling her that it's up to her to save the world, but this is especially challenging to do when she is faced with her ultimate match: a newer and better version of herself, Maximum Ride II. Max's heart-stopping quest to investigate the mind-blowing mystery of her ultimate destiny continues in the scariest, strangest, and funniest James Patterson novel yet.

Audiobook. Very well done with voices and sound effects. The story was cute and entertaining and I will definitely continue reading or listening to the rest of the series. I actually like listening to it better since the audio is so well done.

Personally, I enjoyed 'The Lake House' far more. This was an interesting and fun read, but it's clear it is for a younger market.I was surprised that Patterson would borrow name and character discriptions from 'The Lake House' while stating up front that this novel is not based on those characters. A bit disconcerting. The characters bounce from evil situation to evil situation while trying very hard to like their enemy and not take the low rode. However, they are not beyond petty larceny. What bothered me the most (keeping in mind that this is a young adult novel) kids with 10-16 foot wingspans who could hide them beneath clothing and whip them out at a moment's notice. I just can't see this any more than I could picture a himan with a 10 foot wing span zipping down corridors. At one point, Patterson tells us the protagonist has a jacket with slits for her wings. No mention before this or how she can keep them so well concealed beneath thin material.I think this could have been done better and feel it was just stuck out there to meet the public's demand for more.

This book is very easy yet graciously entertaining. Like the first one, I couldnt bear to look away from the page. So many twists and turns in the story kept me wanting more! i Wizzed through this book in a couple hours mainly because I had the time to read for that long. Max and her flock encounter many different challenges and go through difficult times. Max and Ari's relationship takes on a mysterious spin. I would recomend this book to young readers who also liked the twilight series. I loved this book and i cant wait to go to the library tommarrow to get the next one :)

I love this series of books! It's great for all ages 10 and above, both boys and girls. There is an adult version of the first book in the series, but I personally like these better.

School's Out Forever is the second book in the Maximum Ride series and the series is science fiction. It is about a avian hybreed girl named Max who has wings. Max is very strong, smart, and a natural born leader. Max is destined to save the world ,with the help of her friends, Angel, Iggie , Gizzy, Fang, and Nudge. The six are simply amazing. They all go to a school under the protection of Annie Walker a CIA agent. I recommend this book for people who like science fiction, suspense, drama and action.

This flying flock of kids is still on the run in the second book in the series, and they never know who they can trust. In this book, they get a taste at normalcy as they go to live with an agent and are forced to...ugh...attend school for the first time! The Maximum Ride series is always full of twists and turns, and you never know where it will take you. You would think that if I were reading a story about flying mutant kids, I wouldn't have a hard time "suspending disbelief". However it's the little things that I have a tough time with. For instance, this story has a scene where the kids are flying with a "flock" of hawks. As far as I know, hawks don't fly in flocks. They are solitary hunters and not social birds. So I had a really difficult time getting around this, and it remained a sticking point for me.I enjoyed this book, and I hope to read the rest of the series. However I don't think that I'm enjoying it enough to want to buy the series. So at this point, I think that I will start using the library to read the rest of the series.

After reading the first book in the Maximum Ride Series (The Angel Experiment), I couldn't wait to read this book! It was even better than the first. If I could, I would give it 6 stars!

The group lurch from place to place wondering what's going on, there's an apparent conspiracy about them and they're not sure what's going on. The Voice is egging Max on, she's trying to keep the group together and trying to find out about their pasts. It's not bad but somehow I don't really care enough to search out the next book in the series. If it turned up I might read it but I lack an urge to really search for it.

Great new series by James Patterson! I was looking for a series to interest my daughter in reading and I ended up reading them all myself before I passed them along. Safe for younger readers, a lot of action type violence but very little gore, with a pinch of romantic angst built in. I enjoyed them, and so did my 11 year old daughter.

Pretty much the same as the first book - fun, fast paced, full of action and intrigue. I'm a little disappointed that there still aren't answers to the story's many mysteries, but it ensures that I'll read the next book. I hope it's as entertaining as the first two.

This sequel was very enjoyable in the fluffy, actiony department just as the first book of the series was. Max and the gang are still on the run and looking for their parents but not a lot of plot progress was made in this department. We learned a little more but it was more about action than development. I don't think this is a bad thing because this storyline is precisely what I'm looking for, something fast moving and engrossing without a lot of emotion. It does have just a little enough UST (very light because, lets face it, they are only 14, even if they act older) between Max and Fang to keep me interested without being romancy at all which would completely drive me away from the story right now.I'm really looking forward to reading the next installment and hate waiting.

I enjoyed this book every bit as much as I did the first one. The characters are a lot of fun to read and often have me chuckling out loud. Evil twins and voices in your head? Who ever said being 14 was easy?

I really enjoy James Patterson's Maximum Ride Series. This is the second book in the series and the books are quick reads and packed with action, mystery, and sarcasm.I first fell for the 6 human-avian hybrids while reading While the Wind Blows and The Lake House. These are the same kids and they have still escaped a place called The School, but as Patterson points out, most of the similarities between those 2 books and the Maximum Ride Series end there. There are currently 6 books in the Maximum Ride Series, the latest of which is Fang. Fang is one of the other avain-hybrids in "the flock," and is the same age as Max. I have entered to win an ARC of Fang and I hope I get it!I am on to the third installment of the series right now, which is called Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports- a much more clever title than this book's. No offense Mr. Patterson.I read also that in the movie version of Maximum Ride, Kristen Stewart is slated to play Max and Robert Pattinson is to play Fang.Um, can we say EPIC FAIL?!?What are they thinking? First of all, they messed up by putting Pattinson in Twilight, as he was supposed to be this other-worldly hot and beautiful, which Pattinson clearly is not. Then once again, they are going to put him and Stewart in to the roles of 2 more supposedly gorgeous and perfectly created creatures? Have they even SEEN Stewart and Pattinson?? Plus they have the Twilight director on board. Do not put them all into another franchise together. It will all roll into one big heaping ball of stupid and ruin another series of books. You won't even be able to tell the two series apart.

This book is a high-suspense novel about a group of human-avian hybrids who are escaping a group of scientists and monsters on their quest to find their parents. The characters likable and relatable to some extent, and the dialogue is straight out of B rated superhero movie. The writing is horrendous, but understandable as it was created to mimic a 14-yr-old's thought patterns. There are some major plot holes, and the plot is nothing special, and this book itself is kind of redundant and unneccesary. However, this book is sure to interest reluctant readers, especially middle-schoolers.

OMG!!! This is definatly one of my favourite books! In my favourite series, written by one of my favourite author!! It was soooo darn interesting!!! And Fang and Max....they just have to get together!! It's killing me to know that they have feelings for each other, and yet.....nothing's happening! I hope something will happen in the next book!!! In this book, the flock are running and hiding...like usual, but then they get attacked by Flying Erasers (what's up with that??!!!) and Fang gets hurt. Of course they end up ini a normal hospital, and gets discovered by and FBI agent, and they go for some time growing like normal children! Read it!! You'll love it!!!

Stay together Stay Alive Save The WorldAdventure, fighting, backstabbing and love abound" (VOYA) in this action-packed follow-up to the #1 New York Times blockbuster MAXIMUM RIDE: THE ANGEL EXPERIMENT. The heart-stopping quest of six winged kids--led by fourteen-year-old Max--to find their parents and investigate the mind-blowing mystery of their ultimate destiny continues when they're taken under the wing of an FBI agent and attempt, for the first time, to live "normal" lives. But going to school and making friends doesn't stop them from being relentlessly hunted by sinister spies, who lead Max to face her most frightening match yet: herself......An strikingly butt kicking novel, featuring a hilarious cast of characters that not only entertains but have wings! After reading Angel Experiment i just to read the next one(School's Out forever). I guess i'm going to be saying that until there is no next one(OH no!!)School's Out forever was very fast pace. I was hooked after i read the first page. I really enjoyed this book.Max and the Flock, they are all awesome. Iggy and Gassman are just hilarious and devious. They are obsessed with bombs. When a bomb goes off and the ceiling just fell down on you, their just like "that was awesome." Max and Fang..... just never mind. You get to know Ari a lot more(even though he's a "big evil eraser" u just got to luv him) But i still have my questions, like is Max really suppose to "save the world or is it a big game?" who is the voice? so i think those questions will be answered as i keep reading the series.Ultimately the story was awesome. Now i have get the next one....

A second great episode in the Maximum Ride series. Patterson has kept the pace break-neck throughout and the plot twists just keep coming. In some ways, this series reminds me of the TV show Dark Angel (the main character's name is even the same!): action, plot twists, snappy dialogue. I have no idea where the series will go next, but it should be interesting.

The second book in the Maximum Ride series, this picks up right after the first book. Max and the flock have narrowly escaped a pack of Erasers, and Max might have killed Ari who might be her own brother. Together they flee and try to survive on their own, but Max is a little distracted by the Voice in her head. The flock finds peace for a while with a seemly kindly woman who turns out to be an FBI agent. Face paced and action packed this book is sure to fly off the shelves (forgive the pun).

An excellent follow-on to 'The Angel Experiment'. The Maximum Ride books really grip the imagination. Max and her flock get into more danger and as usual have their own unique solutions. The glimpses of 'normal' parts of their lives (FBI house & Disneyland) add to the interest and provide a nice contrast. Will Max 'save the world' and live 'happy ever after' with Fang, Iggy, Gassman, Nudge and Angel? Can't wait to find out!

I love this series! It is so fast paced and fun to read. I love the characters and their powers. They yet again travel in this novel, much like the last one. Yet, this time they go to Florida, among other places. I thought it did get a little long in the middle when they had to go to school and was living at that ladies house. I thought it ended a little wierd, not knowing there will be a third installation to this series. I really hope he ties things together and lets it end well.

An awe inspiring addition to an amazing series. The plot has become much more complicated, as more and more about the children and their purpose is revealed. However, I felt that parts of this story were thrown in randomly. Parts of the childrens' adventure are so far away from anything I ever could have accepted, and I'm concerned about whether or not Patterson will be able to tie it all together.

Always liked James Patterson’s books but I never have imagined that he could write YA stories with flying teens that have to save the world…he did and he did write them very well! This series is wonderful!!! I love it! You can’t help but like the Flock, laugh at their banters and root for Max & Fang
